Luke Perry Dead at 52

Beverly Hills, 90210 and Riverdale star Luke Perry has passed away after suffering a stroke last Wednesday. The actor was 52 years old. According to TMZ, Perry died Monday morning at St. Joseph’s hospital, five days after he was reportedly found in his Los Angeles-area home after suffering a “massive stroke.” The actor’s publicist confirmed that he passed away Monday morning, telling BuzzFeed News that he was with his “close family and friends” at the time.

“Actor Luke Perry, 52, passed away today after suffering a massive stroke,” said his publicist. The statement goes on to say that Perry was with his children, mother, brother, and sister, as well as “other close friends and family” when he passed. “The family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Luke from around the world, and respectfully request privacy in this time of great mourning,” the statement reads.

TMZ reported Wednesday that paramedics responded to Perry’s home on Wednesday morning at “around 9:40 am” after receiving a call about someone “suffering a stroke.” He was transported to the hospital, where he was reportedly sedated and treated for his injuries. In the days since, his Beverly Hills, 90210 and Riverdale co-stars posted messages of support and well-wishes. “Holding you tight and giving you my strength. You got this,” said Shannen Doherty last Thursday. “Sending my love to Luke Perry,” wrote his Riverdale on-screen wife Molly Ringwald.

Rest in peace, Luke Perry. You will be missed.
