This week, TGIF is an understatement. Now that it’s finally Friday, it’s time to look ahead to your weekend plans: binge-watching all the new shows and movies hitting Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, and HBO over the next few days. Your favorite streaming platforms are hooking it up this weekend with some top-notch content, so no matter your mood, you’ll be able to time something spectacular to stream.

In the mood for something funny? Don’t miss Fuller House Season 4, a holiday-themed bonanza of easy, breezy (beautiful) fun. The Netflix sitcom will take your mind off whatever crazy stuff is happening in the world — because no matter what’s going on out there, we can promise that Fuller House is one hundred percent crazier. Looking for a funny flick to stream afterwards? Check out Blockers, a comedy so hilarious that it made it onto my personal 2018 Best of Everything list. There are only 10 items on that list, so if Blockers made the cut, you know it has to be pretty great.

Not feeling the comedy? Alfonso Cuaron’s Oscar hopeful Roma is finally available to stream on Netflix, so no need to rush to the theater to win your office’s Oscars pool. The Spanish-language drama follows a domestic worker living in Mexico City in the 1950s, a time of intense political and public strife. Don’t let the intensity and the black and white images push you away — we promise, the hype for Roma is totally deserved.

Fuller House: Season 4

The Tanner family is about to get even larger. In Fuller House Season 4, good ol’ Kimmy Gibbler is serving as a surrogate for Stephanie and Jimmy’s baby, but as with all things Kimmy, the pregnancy is anything but normal. Meanwhile, the new installment will feature a huge holiday celebration, and getting all those Tanners together can only mean one thing: disaster. Oh, brother. Season 4 also features a slew of great guest appearances from Leslie Grossman, Maria Canals-Barrera, Josh Peck, and more. This may end up being the last installment, so be sure not to miss it!

Roma

Roma is about as far from Fuller House as you can get, but boy, is it beautiful. Alfonso Cuaron’s new film tells the story of Cleo (newcomer Yalitza Aparicio), a woman working for a middle class family in 1950s Mexico City. Cleo quickly forms a bond with the family’s matriarch, Sofia (Marina de Tavira), but their lives become complicated by the political changes sweeping the nation. Roma has already cleaned up at the early awards ceremonies, including the New York Film Critics Circle and the Los Angeles Film Critics Association, but can it reign supreme at the Oscars? You’ll have to wait until February 24 to find out.

Blockers

Blockers was one of the biggest comedic surprises of 2018. 30 Rock alum Kay Cannon’s directorial debut follows three parents who join forces to prevent their daughters from having sex on prom night. As they desperately attempt to catch up with their kids — who spend the evening at various parties around town, a gas station, and a hotel — the parents encounter a variety of obstacles that can only be overcome with one thing: butt chugging (this is a real plot line). Blockers may sound like a conventional prom-night-gone-wrong comedy, but it’s actually one of the funniest, most heartfelt films of the year. Add this one to your HBO queue immediately.
