Oliver Hudson Reveals Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell’s Code Word For Sex

Oliver Hudson has always been open about growing up in Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell‘s home, but Tuesday on Busy Tonight, the actor really bared all when he revealed that Hawn and Russell had a code word for sex. Hudson told host Busy Philipps that his mom’s home was a “total naked house,” so to differentiate sexy naked time from regular naked time, Hawn and Russell referred to sex as “snuggling.” Grossness of the term aside, that sure is an effective way to give your kids something to talk about in therapy years later.

When asked why he’s so comfortable baring his butt all over social media, Hudson insisted that there’s something “funny and gross” about male nudity. The Splitting Up Together star said that he keeps “a total naked house” because that’s what he’s used to. “I grew up in a naked house. My family, we were all naked,” he said. Hudson recalled that Hawn and Russell (who have been together since the mid-1980s but never married) moved that nakedness to the bedroom with a code word. “We used to get calls on the intercom from my mom, ‘We’re snuggling now.’ Snuggling meaning like, you know, bop bop bop,” he said while making some very weird noises and hand gestures that I guess are supposed to simulate sex.

“The problem is, we were like six. They didn’t have to do this,” Hudson continued. “So snuggling became having sex, so not it’s like, ‘We’re snuggling.’ Trying to sort of say, ‘Don’t come in our bedroom.’ We knew what was happening.” Turning on the charm, Hudson added, “And this is why I’m going to the Hoffman Institute.” Philipps, always one to help, stepped in to explain that the Hoffman Institute is a week-long retreat where “you work out all of your issues.” Maybe that was Goldie Hawn’s plan all along.

Watch Hudson discuss his very naked upbringing in the clip above.
