This one always sounds like a good idea. Aww, that sweet holiday movie about love! Uh, but one aspect of that love you might be forgetting is the physical part. Remember, there's some sex stuff in here. And the scenes feel like they're lasting much longer than they need to. So unless you're planning on your face getting as bright red as a Santa hat, maybe skip this one with the 'rents. Universal Pictures

You might think the title *Bad Santa* is meant to be playful. Like, "Oh that Santa; he's such a scamp!" But nope. Billy Bob Thornton portrays a truly degenerate Ol' Saint Nick in this 2003 cult comedy. Thornton's disreputable conman Willy crosses paths with Sue (Lauren Graham), a bartender who has a thing for men dressed as Santa. You can probably see where this is going. *Reindeer Games* sounds like a fun, wholesome movie the entire family can enjoy, but this R-rated action film features its trio of stars -- Ben Affleck, Charlize Theron and Gary Sinise -- doing a whole lot more than kissing under the mistletoe. This 2000 movie doesn't boast much critical acclaim (it currently has a 25% rating on Rotten Tomatoes), but it somehow always seems to find its way onto television during the holiday season. The heist film features two scenes that will turn your face the color of Santa's jacket. First, Affleck and Theron partake in some scorching "fresh out of jail" sex (conveniently scored to "Let it Snow"), and later in the film, Theron and Sinise have an aquatic romp in a swimming pool. Ah, the holidays! Time to make yourself a hot cup of cocoa, sit down with your family, and watch a nice movie. And oh my god, oh no, this one totally has banging in it. Eject, eject!

If you’re not quite feeling in the mood for extreme awkwardness, we’ve compiled the movies that you’re going to want to avoid during family movie night. Some are riskier than others, and some managed to insert steamy, dirty sex in a film you thought was totally innocent (never forget that Love Actually has a porn storyline, just waiting to creep up and embarrass you).

It’s a delicate balance, choosing a movie the whole family will enjoy. You want it to be fun and exciting, but not too fun and exciting, and you certainly don’t want it to be explicitly sexy. Take a look at these titles that might sound highly enjoyable, and they are, but remember to watch them without several of your relatives right next to you on the couch. If you want to avoid explaining awkward moments on-screen, and living through awkward moments IRL, these movies are a pass when your parents are around. Otherwise, you’ll find yourself doing some big time blushing, and don’t say we didn’t warn you.
