More T.J. Miller Accusers Come Forward–And ‘The Emoji Movie’ Is Involved

After an accusation against T.J. Miller was made public, alleging that the former Silicon Valley star sexually assaulted and punched a woman during college, more people are coming forward with their own stories about him. Unlike other men accused in Hollywood’s massive reckoning with decades of misogyny and sexual abuse, men whose actions followed a similar pattern, Miller’s accusers are all claiming he did different, totally disturbing things.

First there’s the unidentified woman who spoke with the Daily Beast alleging that Miller assaulted her during their years at George Washington University, and the incident was handled by a student court. Rumors of this abuse have circulated in the comedy scene for years, reportedly, and have now come to light.

Now there’s an accusation from adult film star Dana DeArmond who alleges that Miller and Jordan Vogt-Roberts (director of Kong: Skull Island) harassed her while on the set of the 2012 Comedy Central sketch series Mash Up.

DeArmond declined to talk further about the incident when reporters reached out to her on Twitter, saying that it was a “long time ago” and that Miller’s “proven himself to be an asshole and I have nothing to add.” She did, however, expand more on Vogt-Roberts, who kissed her without her consent after wrapping Mash Up.

The third woman is film critic Danielle Solzman, a trans woman who says that Miller wrote her an abusive and transphobic email following the release of The Emoji Movie.

Solzman’s critical post about The Emoji Movie went up on August 2, and the email was sent on August 5. Solzman previously withheld that information and blacked out the sender’s name when she shared the email back in September for fear of threats and legal action. Solzman confirmed that the email was sent by Miller.

In the email, Miller refers to Danielle as “Daniel” and says, “You’re not a transgender, you’re not a tranny — your a fucking asshole Daniel.” Miller also claims a weird moral high ground in the email, writing, “If you bothered to look into anything that I’ve ever done you would find in not only have I had sex with transgender people, but I have donated widely to organizations that support their freedom.”
