If you’re ready to dive into a new David Fincher-driven frenzy, prepare yourself for Mindhunter, a true crime series so chilling it’s already been renewed for a second season ahead of its release. Set in 1979, Mindhunter follows FBI Special Agents Holden Ford and Bill Tench (Jonathan Groff and Holt McCallany), a duo who interview imprisoned serial killers to get inside the minds of active murderers and solve cases currently ongoing.

Thank Noah Baumbach, because Adam Sandler is good again. In what is perhaps his best performance since Paul Thomas Anderson’s Punch-Drunk Love, Sandler shines as one of the three adult children of Harold Meyerowitz (Dustin Hoffman) alongside Ben Stiller and Elizabeth Marvel. Baumbach’s dramedy perfectly captures all the bittersweet dysfunction of the family dynamic and acts as a showcase for its wildly talented stars in the process.
