Quentin Tarantino has broken his silence on recent allegations against his long-time collaborator, Harvey Weinstein. In a statement posted by his friend, Amber Tamblyn, on her verified Twitter account Thursday night, Tarantino says, “For the last week I’ve been stunned and heartbroken about the revelations that have come to light about my friend for 25 years Harvey Weinstein. I need a few more days to process my pain, emotions, anger and memory and then I will speak publicly about it.”

The actress said she’d posted the statement, on behalf of Tarantino, after a dinner Wednesday night. Tamblyn had a cameo in Tarantino’s Django Unchained, and the two are friends.

Weinstein, through Miramax and then The Weinstein Company, has produced all of Tarantino’s films since Pulp Fiction, most recently The Hateful Eight in 2015. In September, Weinstein threw a party for Tarantino in New York, to toast the director’s engagement. Tarantino was most recently working on a film about the Tate murders of 1969. That film was expected to be produced by Weinstein.
Tarantino’s statement follows a little more than 24 hours after several tweets issued by an account purporting to belong to the filmmaker. That account is unverified and the tweets have subsequently been debunked.
