You think you’re busy at work? Nah, just wait until you hear what Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber have been up to. They’re one of the most in-demand writing duos in the entire entertainment industry today, and when I start dropping some names, you’ll understand why.

The writing partners have become author John Green’s go-to guys when it comes to adapting his novels into screenplays. So far, they’ve got The Fault In Our Stars and Paper Towns under their belts, and they’re attached to adapt Looking For Alaska as well. So how’d they get there? Well, they first paired on (500) Days Of Summer and The Pink Panther 2, before adapting The Spectacular Now, and their careers were off and running from there.

But don’t get it twisted, Neustadter and Weber don’t just have a knack for so-called “teen flicks.” It’s apparent these dudes know how to write romance, which is how they ended up adapting Our Souls At Night for Netflix, available now, starring Robert Redford and Jane Fonda.

These two also did the typing behind the short-lived but very fun sitcom Friends with Benefits, and they flexed their comedic skills for the upcoming The Disaster Artist, with both Dave and James Franco, which hits theaters in December. And judging by the reaction the film got at the Toronto Film Festival earlier this month, it’s going to be quite the crowd pleaser.

Oh, and there’s plenty more where that came from. The duo were handed the responsibility of writing the screenplay for the best-seller and highly anticipated Where’d You Go, Bernadette, starring Cate Blanchett and Kristen Wiig, as well as X-Men: The New Mutants, both of which are due out next year. They are also handling script duties on adapting Salt To The Sea, and a remake of The Beauty Inside, which will star Emilia Clarke.

Neustadter and Weber, who have been friends for nearly two decades, also did a draft of Let It Snow: Three Holiday Romances, comprised of three intertwining stories, one of which is by Green, and is expected to be available later this year. They’ve been attached to adapt a modern version of Romeo and Juliet entitled When You Were Mine, (also known as Rosaline), Rules of Civility, and The Rosie Project. It remains unclear when we might actually get to see these projects, or if some are stuck in movie development hell, but know that they’ve kept this writing duo busy for some time. In case it’s not abundantly clear already, you’d be very wrong to assume these two will be sitting at home just chewing on pencils anytime in the near future.
