Jane Fonda: It Was “The Wrong Time And Place” For Megyn Kelly’s Plastic Surgery Question

Megyn Kelly Today has been keeping the internet on its toes since debuting earlier this week, and her disastrous interview with Jane Fonda and Robert Redford yesterday was only the latest in a seemingly endless stream of snafus on Kelly‘s part. On the show to promote her new Netflix film Our Souls at Night, Fonda was somewhat baffled when Kelly asked her about plastic surgery procedures she had undergone. “I read that you said you felt you’re not proud to admit that you’ve had work done. Why not?” Kelly asked. Almost without skipping a beat, Fonda shot back: “We really wanna talk about that right now?”

The interview proceeded (albeit bumpily), but Fonda wasn’t done airing her grievances about Kelly’s lack of decorum. In an interview later that day on Entertainment Tonight Canada, Fonda was asked about whether or not she was “shocked” by Kelly’s question – “a little bit”, she admitted.

“Given the fact that we don’t have a lot of time, and Bob is right here, it was a weird thing to bring up – whether I’ve had plastic surgery or not. I have, and I’ve talked about it, but it just seemed like the wrong time and the place to raise that question.”

If things continue for Kelly the way they’ve been going, it’s only a matter of time until we have another cringeworthy interview to suffer through.

Our Souls at Night debuts on Netflix Friday, September 29.
