Welcome to the weekend! It’s Friday and that means there are new titles now available on-demand, ready to amp up your weekend plans with Megazord thunder. Whether you use Amazon Video, iTunes, Vudu or your cable’s on demand service, there are a lot of new releases out there waiting to be rented or purchased.
After a few weeks of waiting, two very different movies (John Wick: Chapter 2 and The LEGO Batman Movie) are now available to rent. Keanu Reeves returns as the titular hitman John Wick in the follow-up to 2014’s surprise action hit. New this week is The Belko Experiment, which is kinda like if Office Space got promoted to a super violent horror film. If you’re looking for something a little less R-rated, you can now rent The LEGO Batman Movie, which is the first family-friendly Batman movie in at least twenty years.

Power Rangers
It’s been over twenty years since five teenagers with attitudes first morphed into five color-coded superheroes and did battle with California kaiju. This feature film reboot goes back to the sprawling franchise’s roots, featuring new actors in the roles of Jason, Billy, Kimberly, Trini, and Zack. Rounding out the cast is Bryan Cranston as the ethereal voice of wisdom Zordon, Bill Hader as the frantic droid Alpha 5, and Elizabeth Banks as the villainous Rita Repulsa. The film didn’t wow critics, but plenty of diehard Power Rangers fans were more than pleased. If you want to rent Power Rangers, you’ll have to wait until June 27.

CHiPs
If you’re looking for some bawdy humor this weekend, then look no further than CHiPs. This update of the original late ’70s TV series starring two members of the California Highway Patrol drives deep into lowbrow territory. This time around, Michael Peña and Dax Shepard hit the highway as unlikely buddy cops going up against corruption within their own department. If you don’t want to buy CHiPs, you’ll be able to rent it on June 27.

This over-the-top thriller proved that magicians can do more than just cuddle up with tigers and turn sidewalks into stages. Magicians can also be expert Robin Hood-style criminals, and this heist movie puts four of them (Jesse Eisenberg, Dave Franco, Isla Fisher, and Woody Harrelson) to work for a tycoon played by Michael Caine. If that’s not enough star power for you, this surprise hit (over $117M at the domestic box office) also features Mark Ruffalo and Morgan Freeman.
