We made it to Wednesday! And after two super funny and sneaky sentimental episodes of Brooklyn Nine-Nine last night, this seems like the right time to declare Stephanie Beatriz our Woman Crush Wednesday.

As Detective Rosa Diaz, Stephanie’s stone-cold sarcasm earns her laughs with each episode. But there’s so much more to her than her deadpan delivery.

WHO’S THAT GAL: Stephanie Beatriz

WHY WE’RE CRUSHING: We love watching Rosa on B99 for many reasons: yes, she’s hilarious, but she’s also a good teammate and partner to Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg). And when the Pontiac Bandit Doug Judy (Craig Robinson) shows up to profess his love for her? Even better! Stephanie brings a total toughness to Rosa, but she’s also not afraid to show her vulnerable side. Watching Rosa’s relationship with Adrian Pimento (Jason Mantzoukas) opened up a whole new side of both Rosa, and Stephanie’s acting. She was able to show some emotion, period. And she did it damn well. Even amongst a crew as stellar as that of Brooklyn Nine-Nine Stephanie is able to shine through, and it’s just one of the reasons we totally want her on our squad.

WHERE YOU’VE SEEN HER BEFORE: Before she joined our favorite Fox comedy, Stephanie could be seen on shows such as The Closer, Southland, Jessie, and Hello Ladies (in a memorable and hilarious scene at a fancy nightclub). She also landed parts in films such as Short Term 12, You’re Not You with Hillary Swank and Emmy Rossum, and Pee-wee’s Big Holiday. You may have caught her voice in Ice Age: Collision Course, Bob’s Burgers, and the Amazon pilot The New V.I.P’s. Plus, she’s also stopped by Modern Family for a handful of episodes and starred in the indie drama The Light of the Moon, which was released this year.

WHERE YOU’LL SEE HER AGAIN: Later this year, you’ll be able to check out this #WCW in Half Magic, a comedy with Heather Graham. But in the meantime, we’ve still got a few episodes left in season four of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and we can’t wait to see what Rosa gets up to — and who she shuts down!
