It’s not all Good(ing).
At the 34th annual PaleyFest in Los Angeles this weekend, American Crime Story star Cuba Gooding Jr. pulled an unwanted and morally dubious prank on his Emmy-winning co-star Sarah Paulson, lifting up her skirt —without permission— on stage in front of a packed audience of fans and photogs. The stunt was publicly laughed off by a clearly embarrassed Paulson, but you have to wonder what kind of repercussions this might have on their personal and professional relationship going forward.
Gooding Jr. and Paulson were joined on stage at the Dolby Theater on Saturday night by American Horror Story: Roanoke co-stars Denis O’Hare, Kathy Bates, and Cheyenne Jackson to reminisce about their memories making the show. Gooding Jr. and Paulson were among the first stars introduced to the crowd (and were seated next to each other), but as soon as the announcer introduced Kathy Bates, Paulson turned around to greet her “favorite person.” It was then that Gooding Jr. decided to hoist up Paulson’s skirt, a move which Paulson initially did not notice. However, the Daily Mail reports that the Emmy winning actress “shrieked and grabbed her dress away” as soon as she realized what was happening.
This isn’t Cuba’s first time displaying inappropriate sexual behavior towards women in public. The actor, who filed for divorce from his wife of over twenty years in January, has been tripped up by a series of controversial encounters with women over the last year and some change. Page Six reported that the “hard partying” actor has been spending a lot of time drunkenly hitting on women at nightclubs all across the country.
