Former Home Improvement and current Last Man Standing star Tim Allen compared the persecution of Hollywood conservatives today to Nazi Germany in a Friday appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

“You gotta be real careful ’round here, you know, you’re gonna get beat up if you don’t believe what everybody believes,” he told the talk show host, a fellow ABC personality. “It’s just like ’30s Germany.” The comment came after Kimmel broached the topic of Allen attending President Trump‘s inauguration, where the comedian and Toy Story actor participated in a VIP event for veterans and attended the Veterans Inaugural Ball with his family.

At the swearing in ceremony, Allen was modestly complimentary of Trump, telling the Washington Examiner, “He’s a worker.” When speaking to Kimmel about its pageantry, he concluded, “This government does stuff big. I’ve never been to anything like that…Just so many people show up,” a possible sign of support for Trump’s claims about the Inauguration crowd size (which Press Secretary Sean Spicer called unprecedented).

Before Trump became the Republican presidential nominee, during a Television Critics Association Q&A back in August 2015, Allen told Fox News that he was supporting Ohio governor John Kasich, criticizing the “horrible” prospect of Hillary Clinton‘s administration. “I sat with a group of liberal Jewish guys who said, ‘When Trump starts to make sense, we know the world is upside down,’” Allen said then. “Until I see what’s under that hair, I can’t really support him.”
