Before she was the effervescent star of Younger, Sutton Foster was best known to TV nerds for her work on Amy Sherman-Palladino‘s quirky ballet dramedy Bunheads. Foster is about to join the cast of Sherman-Palladino’s other cult hit Gilmore Girls when the show returns for a four-part special miniseries event, called Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life, on Netflix later this year. The Broadway star is reportedly playing a musical theater actress appearing in a local Stars Hollow production.

Foster was one of the many Younger stars on hand at this year’s ATX Festival in Austin. We got a chance to ask her ahead of the show’s panel what it was like joining the illustrious cast of Gilmore Girls.

It was, like, four of the most surreal days of my life. It was so cool. I didn’t want them to end. To go from the fan on the couch and then to be then there…And it was such an honor for that show and they really celebrated it. Really just some of the best days I’ve ever had.

Is it just this Gilmore Girls fan, but are we all just really jealous of Sutton Foster right? Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life is rumored to debut on Netflix later this year. Season three of Younger goes into production this week. Check back soon for the scoop on the next season!
