Meet Queue: Sarah Gadon Is The Hot Hitchcockian Blonde At The Center Of Hulu’s ‘11/22/63′

Hulu‘s new original mini-series 11/22/63 is a twisty time-travel thriller starring James Franco as a 21st century dude sent back to the 1960s with the hopes of stopping the Kennedy assassination. His leading lady? Sarah Gadon. The bewitching actress has been steadily making a name for herself on TV and film and appears in the mini-series as a gorgeous blonde Texan librarian pulled into the fray. Gadon doesn’t just stand out because she’s one of the few women on the show, but because she brings an old-school, Hitchcockian cool to her performance.

If you want the lowdown on Sarah Gadon, we’ve compiled a streaming dossier for you. It’s kind of like a “meet cute” in a romantic comedy, but because it’s all streaming, we’re calling it your “meet queue.” So get ready to fall under the spell of Sarah Gadon…

World Without End (2012)

World Without End is a lavish miniseries adaptation of Ken Follet’s medieval novel of the same name and a sequel to The Pillars of the Earth. The series followed the lives and deaths of the people of Kingsbridge, a fictional British town, as they get swept up in the events leading up to the Hundred Years’ War. Gadon nabbed a great supporting role playing the noble Lady Philippa. Not so great? THAT HAIR. [Watch World Without End on Netflix]

Cosmopolis (2012)

In 2011, Gadon appeared in a supporting role in David Cronenberg’s A Dangerous Method. She must have impressed the director because he gave her the co-starring role in his next feature, Cosmopolis. The strange film follows a young Wall Street shark (Robert Pattinson) on the verge of collapse. Gadon played his wife, Elise, in the film. Sadly, they do not get along and she refused to sleep with him, which leads him to have affairs. [Watch Cosmopolis on Netflix]

Belle (2013)

Even though Amma Asante’s enchanting period drama Belle is usually seen as a showcase for the incandescent Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Gadon was spelling-binding in her own right as Elizabeth Murray. While Dido Elizabeth Belle has to contend with racism, her cousin Elizabeth has to deal with classism. The two girls, both cornered by their sexist society, learn to lean on each other as sisters and best friends — though that gets tested when they have to deal with finding husbands. Dracula Untold (2014)

Gadon got her first sniff of big screen stardom when she was cast as the female lead in Universal’s big Dracula reboot Dracula Untold. The actress played Mirena, Vlad’s doomed wife, who gives him her blood in order to finalize his transformation into a vampire. She does this to save him and in the hopes of saving their son. The film ends in the present day, where Mirena is reborn as “Mina,” a play on Mina Murray. [Where to Stream Dracula Untold]

11/22/63 (2016)

Sarah Gadon stars as Sadie Dunhill in Hulu’s brand new original miniseries event 11/22/63. Sadie is a smart and charming Dallas belle who catches time traveler Jake Epping’s eye in the 1960s. The two fall in love and she promises to be the best thing about Jake’s journey to the past — though she may also be his biggest weakness. [Watch 11/22/63 on Hulu]
