Hey, did you hear that it was hot —like, really hot— on the Oscar red carpet tonight? We did. About a thousand times, actually. Anyone who watched more than four seconds of the E! pre-show heard it. You know what we didn’t hear, though? THAT SOMEONE WAS WALKING THE RED CARPET WEARING A FREDDY KRUEGER GLOVE!!!
So, what daring fashion maven faced the fiery heat —some might even say it was hot like a furnace down in the boiler room of a creepy schoolhouse!— wearing a glove with razor-tipped fingers? Fred Armisen, that’s who!
So why did Fred(dy) Armisen wear a glove? Well, Fox was too busy talking about football during the red carpet to do an interview with him, so we’re just gonna guess that it’s because he wanted to pay tribute to the late Wes Craven, who passed away just last month. If you look closely, too, his tie shares the same color pattern as Freddy’s sweater. Whatever the reason for this tribute ends up being, it was awesome.
