Woman Crush Wednesday: Amber Heard Of ‘Magic Mike XXL’

It’s Wednesday, which means it’s socially welcome to crush on your favorite lady. This week, we’re head over heels for Magic Mike XXL star Amber Heard, who’s beauty rivals that of Channing Tatum‘s abdominals. Heard, who you’ve seen in everything from Pineapple Express and Zombieland to The Rum Diary, is seemingly everywhere this year with The Adderall Diaries and now the highly-anticipated Magic Mike sequel. WHO’S THAT GIRL?: Amber Heard

WHAT’S THE CAUSE FOR WORSHIP?: We’re going to be seeing Heard just about everywhere (outside of the tabloids that is, being married to Johnny Depp is often the subject of scrutiny for the actress) this year in both blockbusters and hard-hitting indies. After you catch her getting a lap dance from an oiled up Channing Tatum, she’ll be starring opposite James Franco in indie drug tirade The Adderall Diaries followed by music drama When I Live My Life Over Again, in which she’ll play a washed up singer desperate to make a comeback in New York’s inner circle.

WHERE YOU KNOW HER FROM: You probably first saw the Austin native in Friday Night Lights before you knew her as Angie, Dale Denton’s (Seth Rogen) much younger girlfriend in the stoner comedy Pineapple ExpressAfter she was plotting to eat Jesse Eisenberg’s brains in Zombieland, Heard made appearances in thrillers The Informers, Drive Angry, and Machete Kills, plus horror fare The Ward, All the Boys Love Mandy Lane, and And Soon the Darkness. She was also the lead in Chad Hodge’s ill-fated and underrated drama The Playboy Club, followed by an appearance in the Hunter S. Thompson romp, The Rum Diary, where she met her husband to be, Johnny Depp.

WHERE YOU’RE GOING TO SEE HER NEXT: Heard is starring in back-to-back novel adaptations, due out later this year. First up is London Fields, also starring Depp, Insurgent‘s Theo James, and Billy Bob Thornton, followed by The Danish Girl, where she’ll star opposite Ex-Machina‘s Alicia Vikander and Eddie Redmayne in the biopic about controversial 1920s artists Gerda and Einar Wegener.
