Even though the Yankees third baseman hasn’t spent much time on the baseball diamond this season, Alex Rodriguez has been keeping busy by filling up his streaming queue. Last year, after violating the performance-enhancing drug policy set by the MLB, A-Rod was suspended from the regular and post-seasons for the entirety of 2014, leaving the Yankees without their infamous troublemaking drama queen starting third baseman. Needless to say, A-Rod has plenty of time to kill these days, so when he’s not preening or stopping to check himself out in the mirror, he’s exploring all there is to watch on various streaming platforms. Here are a few titles we found in his queue. Mad Men When A-Rod is feeling like a loner, he can find solace in Don Draper. The two have plenty in common when you think about it; both have kids, both cheated on their wives numerous times, and both got suspended from their respective jobs. He probably figures, “Hey, if it happened to Don and me, it can happen to anyone.” No harm no foul. Stream all seasons of Mad Men on Netflix Mean Girls “When you get bit by a snake, you have to suck out all the poison. That’s what I had to do, suck all the poison out of my life.” A-Rod has been taking Cady Heron’s (Lindsay Lohan) words to heart these days by trying to right his wrongs. Let’s give the man some credit, people, because watching Mean Girls is a tremendous start. See where you can stream Mean Girls on GoWatchIt. The Sandlot With all this time off, A-Rod can’t help but feel nostalgic. Some days, he just wants to get back to his roots and remember why he fell in love with baseball in the first place. Smalls, Benny, and the rest of the gang help bring the troubled third baseman back to simpler times. See where you can stream The Sandlot on GoWatchIt. Entourage, Season 8, Episode 7: “Second to Last” Why so specific you ask? Well, if you recall, A-Rod made a guest appearance on this episode along with fellow Yankee, Mark Teixeira. This is in his queue so he can remember sweeter times (and watch a moment of himself on television when he isn’t repeatedly swinging and missing). In this episode, A-Rod is in his natural habitat, talking on the phone and taking care of outside business when he should be warming up and taking part in batting practice. During his phone call with Turtle, he scoffs, “We’re trying to win a ring here.” Oh really? Well, you can start by hanging up the phone, mister man. Stream all seasons of Entourage on HBO Go Hoop Dreams When all else fails, you can always switch career paths. It’s 2014, right? Plus, Michael Jordan did it! This legendary documentary is so inspiring, it makes even the most non-athletic person in the world want to jump out of their seat and start playing some b-ball. Hey Alex, we can’t blame you for considering the court as an option after streaming this one.  See where you can stream Hoop Dreams on GoWatchIt. Best of luck to you, A-Rod, while you count down the remainder of your 162-game suspension until you can return to the field at Yankee Stadium and once again get booed by your own fans. It’s OK, though; the time will go by in a flash. Photos: Everett Collection
