The New York Red Bulls locked up defender Dylan Nealis with a new contract on Thursday.

The three-year deal announced by the team runs through 2027 with an option for 2028.

"We are very excited to keep Dylan at the club for the long-term," NYRB head of sport Jochen Schneider said. "Dylan has enjoyed a great start to the season and has showcased to be a very important member of our roster."

Nealis, 25, is in his third season with the Red Bulls after joining the club via trade from Nashville SC on Dec. 15, 2021.

He has recorded four assists in 57 MLS matches (38 starts) with the club, including one assist in 10 games (eight starts) in 2024.

"Dylan has been an important member of our backline this season," Red Bulls coach Sandro Schwarz said. "He has proven to be a leader in our group, and we are happy to keep him on our roster for the years to come."

Nealis was the No. 3 overall pick in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft by Inter Miami CF. He has five assists in 80 matches (50 starts) with Miami (2020), Nashville (2021) and NYRB.
