The San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs will once again square off in the Super Bowl. The Chiefs — who won the previous meeting, 31-20 — are in their third Super Bowl in four years.

So when was the last time your favorite team made the Big Game? Let’s take a look. (Sorry Lions, Browns, Jaguars, and Texans fans).

The Super Bowl matchup that no one outside of the Bay Area or Missouri asked for.

Even worse, the right-wingers think it’s all a ploy to get Taylor Swift to endorse Joe Biden.

Last appearance: Super Bowl LVII (2022)

Score: Chiefs 38, Eagles 35

A matchup against arguably the two best teams that season. Both went 14-3 and clinched their respective conference’s top seed in the playoffs. This game will be remembered for the holding call against James Bradberry.

F*ck them picks. This Super Bowl win was fueled by GM Les Snead trading away draft selections for established stars.

Tom Brady showed he could win a ring with another team besides the New England Patriots. And we hate him even more because of it.

Last appearance: Super Bowl LIII (2018)

Score: Patriots 13, Rams 3

This was easily one of the most boring Super Bowls of all time, and officially the lowest-scoring. And another win for the Pats, who everyone outside of New England had already long grown tired of seeing in the Big Game. At least this was the end of the Patriots dynasty.

Atlanta Falcons

Last appearance: Super Bowl LI (2016)

Score: Patriots 34, Falcons 28 (OT)

Did you know the Falcons were up 28-3?

Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers

Last appearance: Super Bowl 50 (2015)

Score: Broncos 24, Panthers 10

The stout Broncos defense helped a hobbled Peyton Manning get one last ring by recovering three fumbles, recording an interception, and sacking Cam Newton seven times.

Last appearance: Super Bowl XLIX (2014)

Score: Patriots 28, Seahawks 24

Why would you throw the ball when you’re on the 1-yard line?

Last appearance: Super Bowl XLVII (2012)

Score: Ravens 34, 49ers 31

John defeated his brother Jim in the Harbowl. The latter is back in the league, but a rematch won’t happen unless one of them heads to the NFC.

New York Giants

Last appearance: Super Bowl XLVI (2011)

Score: Giants 21, Patriots 17

Tom Brady lost three Super Bowls in his career. Two of those were at the hands of Eli Manning and the New York Giants. This one didn’t have the helmet catch, but there was plenty of intrigue until the final whistle.

Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers

Last appearance: Super Bowl XLV (2010)

Score: Packers 31, Steelers 25

Aaron Rodgers’ lone Super Bowl victory. Green Bay was the NFC’s No. 6 seed in the playoffs, and won its first title since the 90s.

Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints

Last appearance: Super Bowl XLIV (2009)

Score: Saints 31, Colts 17

New Orleans’ first Super Bowl title in franchise history. Who could forget the onside kick?

Kurt Warner had a shot at winning the Super Bowl with two different teams. But, Santonio Holmes happened.

Chicago Bears

Last appearance: Super Bowl XLI (2006)

Score: Colts 29, Bears 17

The good for Chicago: Devin Hester started off the game with a 92-yard kick return for a touchdown.

The bad: Rex Grossman’s fourth quarter pick-six.

Las Vegas Raiders

Last appearance: Super Bowl XXXVII (2002)

Score: Buccaneers 48, Raiders 21

The Bucs picked off Rich Gannon a record five times. Three of them were pick-sixes.

Here’s a reminder that it’s been almost 30 years since “America’s Team” has won the Big Game.

If you think they’ll win one next year, you clearly haven’t been watching.

Los Angeles Chargers

Last appearance: Super Bowl XXIX (1994)

Score: 49ers 49, Chargers 26

The ratings didn’t suffer despite the game featuring two California teams. But the Chargers couldn’t overcome Steve Young — who threw for 6 TDs — and the 49ers.

Buffalo Bills

Last appearance: Super Bowl XXVIII (1993)

Score: Cowboys 30, Buffalo 13

This was the last of the four consecutive Super Bowl appearances — and losses — for the Buffalo Bills. Josh Allen and co. will need to exorcise their Kansas City Chiefs demons in order to get back to the Big Game.

Washington Commanders

The second of four straight Super Bowl losses for Buffalo, and the third Lombardi Trophy for Washington — all won with different QBs.

Minnesota Vikings

Four Super Bowl appearances. Zero victories. Minnesota was the first to do it. Buffalo followed.

Score: Jets 16, Colts 7

Joe Namath. The Guarantee. Gang Green’s lone Super Bowl appearance and victory. The title aspirations for this season went up in flames when Aaron Rodgers went down four plays into the opener.
