There are few more gripping games in sports than the main event Monday, Game 7 of the NHL Stanley Cup Final.

When a team has come back from a 3-0 deficit to force a decider, it’s even more of a must-see spectacle.

Let’s attempt to predict the finale of the hockey season with the Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers and take a stab at Euro 2024 and Copa America.

Edmonton Oilers at Florida Panthers, Stanley Cup Final Game 7

A couple of weeks ago, the Panthers were up 3-0 and cruising in this final series of the 2023-24 NHL season. The drama was near zero with Florida presumed to be on the way to a first-ever Stanley Cup.

Then Conor McDavid and crew awakened to take three in a row and turn this into a potentially historic occasion.

The Panthers return home reeling. They haven’t looked anything like the team we saw storm to the Eastern Conference title, showing little life in dropping three straight games.

That’s not to say the pressure isn’t on the Oilers, who are trying to end Canada’s three-decades drought in the Cup Final. Everyone up north except for Flames fans are surely rooting for Kris Knoblauch’s men.

While I just can’t pick a side for this wager in this pressure cooker, the offensive side of things may be a little bit of a struggle.

Croatia vs. Italy, Euro 2024 Group B

Italy squeaked by Albania 2-1 in their first game before allowing 20 shots in a 1-0 loss to Spain in their second contest.

The Azzurri should have a good chance of making the round of 16 as a third-place team even if they don’t win this game, but Croatia are a very desperate bunch after being considered a dark horse title contender by many heading into the tournament.

Croatia sit at just one point attained heading into this one, and will surely throw everything including the kitchen sink at an Italian side that looked very pedestrian offensively in their first two games.

I fancy an early Croatia goal in this one, with the Italians coming back to tie things up in the second half as Croatia pushes for what could be a key second goal.

Draw (-115 on DraftKings)

Colombia vs Paraguay, Copa America Group D

Colombia looked solid in a 5-1 dismantling of the USA a couple of weeks ago in preparation for this tournament featuring the national teams of South American countries as well as a few invited squads in USA, Jamaica and Mexico.

Los Cafeteros come into this game with eight straight wins under their belt, including a 1-0 win over Spain in London and a 3-2 victory over Mexico. These two sides faced each other in World Cup qualifying back in November, with Colombia coming out 1-0 winners on the road.

Colombia will have a monster crowd advantage in Houston, and I expect a win by a couple of goals at minimum over Paraguay, whose only wins in the past 14 games have been over Panama 1-0, Bolivia 1-0 and Nicaragua 2-0.

Colombia -1.5 (+220 at DraftKings)
