#AI & #Industry This was the topic of one of our impulses at our MAHLE New Ventures #StartupDay held by our expert Ingo Hoffmann Ingo Hoffmann is one of the most experienced #experts in the application of Artificial Intelligence in Germany. He is Managing Director of KI-Allianz Baden-Württemberg and one of the German experts at the Global Partnership on AI (GPAI) for the topic of #innovation and #commercialisation of AI.  He also invests in AI Startups from Europe as a founding partner of the AI Fund. As MAHLE and therefore MAHLE New Ventures are focusing on the topic of AI with all his opportunities and challenges it was a perfect fit for a discussion at our Startup Day.    Here are essential takeaways from the day's dialogue: 💡 The need for companies to offer AI training for all employees and management is essential. 👉 Comprehensive AI #training is not only important for all levels of employees, but also a solution to drive efficiency and address staffing #challenges. Companies must identify where AI can enhance operations and experiment with potential applications, leveraging AI to streamline workflows. #Change #Management and #education are key drivers for broad adoption in the companies.   💡 It's crucial to establish an AI #strategy and governance framework as early as possible. As AI development races forward, it is just as important for companies to keep pace with the deep-seated social, economic, and policy adaptations that accompany this technological surge.   💡 AI #regulation is coming, especially in the EU (AI Act). Even if the regulatory details are still being finalized, proactive engagement with these guidelines is essential. 💡 Expect more evolutionary rather than revolutionary shifts in AI capabilities. The push for quality is on, with new training techniques and improved data refining set to enhance current models. With this evolution, the emphasis will likely pivot from large language models (LLM) to large multimodal models (LMM). Smaller and better models, often based on open-source, will enable AI solutions everywhere. Afterwork - Panel Talk about #Venture Clienting This week, the Wirtschaftsförderung Region Stuttgart GmbH (WRS) and Pioniergeist GmbH invited Johannes Diem from our MAHLE New Ventures team to take part in a panel discussion of “Hi Tech!” & “Startup Welcome Package” for international start-ups programs. Together with Johannes Grabowski from Open Bosch and Peter Guse from VECTOR Informatik he discussed experiences, challenges and solutions on the topic of Venture #Clienting. He gave exciting insights into our venture clienting activities, which we are tackling with our small MAHLE New Ventures team. 💡 With a lot of #female power & #passion for startups, the team connects MAHLE with innovative services and technologies from the startup world in the so-called MAHLE #Piloting Program in order to test startup solutions in small, fast pilot projects. Welcome to Startup Länd 🚀 Last week, Sandra Schäfer and Selina Lehmann attended the Start-up BW Summit 2024, where they were treated to a varied program: great #speakers, lots of interesting #startups and exciting #discussions. Their #highlight was the NXTGN stage dedicated to #venture partnering. After the opening by Adrian Thoma, they listened to the inspiring keynote by Annalena Ruoff and Lucia Tovenrath on the "World of Venture Partnering". 🏆Congratulations - MAHLE chargeBIG wins KS Energy and Environment Award of the Automobilclub KS e.V.   The 42nd KS Energy and Environment Award from Automobilclub KS e.V. in the "Mobility Systems" category goes to MAHLE chargeBIG. Innovative Leaders Konferenz 2024 ‘The conference for your success in the future’ - with the motto connect, inspire, move, took place at the Bosch Research Campus. Many interesting key notes and panel discussions contributed to this. These mainly revolved around the topic of #innovation: whether it was about #AI and #digitalization, #sustainability or the right mind set of innovative leaders. Our colleague Johannes Diem was there and got an idea of how innovation is lived and managed in other companies. Here he gained a lot of input, such as the inspiring message from Thomas Kropf that AI is the basic technology of the future, which must be brought into all applications with great urgency! It is always interesting and inspiring at the same time to see how differently this topic is approached in other companies. MAHLE chargeBIG rocked @ Power2Drive 💪 Last week, #Power2Drive - the international trade fair for charging infrastructure and e-mobility - took place in Munich. Power2Drive is one of the four trade fairs of "The Smarter E Europe" with around 3,000 exhibitors and more than 115,000 visitors from all over the world. MAHLE chargeBIG exhibited at Power2Drive for the fourth time and presented its charging solutions. This year, MAHLE was represented for the first time with a joint stand and presented not only the chargeBIG charging infrastructure, but also the cooling unit for high power charging. ��� In addition to the two charging systems chargeBIG40 and chargeBIG6, the #chargeBIG team also presented its own #payment terminal for the first time. This can be used to pay via RFID payment card or debit and credit card without using an app. Another product that was explained to many interested visitors was the #smallBOX powered by MAHLE. It is the smallest wallbox in the world and charges with up to 22 kW. For the MAHLE chargeBIG team it was a very successful exhibition with many meetings and great discussions. Sunmaxx PVT @ the Intersolar   The #Intersolar last week, was definitively a fair to remember for our MAHLE New Ventures portfolio startup Sunmaxx PVT ☀️   Busy days with a lot of interested visitors and great meetings and as a real highlight the presentation of their new Solar-Hammer – the first module with silicon perovskite tandem cells.   The Solar-Hammer was developed in collaboration with Oxford PV and features optimized thermal management for silicon perovskite applications. With a record value of 26.6 percent, the electrical efficiency of the #SolarHammer is unique.
