Big reception in the German capital: The ZDK New Year's Summit took place in Berlin for the second time on Tuesday. With over 1,000 participants, the Central Association of the German Motor Vehicle Trade and the Deutsche Automobil Treuhand (DAT) offered an event commensurate with the importance of the horsepower industry.
ZDK President Arne Joswig and DAT Managing Director Jens Nietzschmann started the kick-off event again at the Telekom capital representative office in Berlin Mitte. An interesting program was offered that has been missing in this form in recent years. The focus was on the presentation of the new DAT report, which has been providing reliable data, especially on automotive consumer behavior, for 50 years.
DAT market experts Uta Heller and Martin Endlein presented the survey of 4,700 private drivers conducted by GfK. There was a wealth of facts and figures for the plenary session. One result: a private car buyer invests 80 percent of his annual salary in his new car. 50 years ago it was only 38 percent. However, it should be taken into account that 80 percent of vehicles are now leased and financed and that ultimately it depends on the monthly mobile budget available.
