Become a part of our team as a Working Student - English News Editor (m/f/d) and take on these responsibilities:

  • Quality Management and Writing: Write and ensure the quality of high-priority news items, including basic image editing to enhance article presentation
  • Fact-Checking and Research: Fact-check competitor articles and conduct in-depth research on various topics to ensure accuracy and provide comprehensive coverage
  • Content Research: Stay up-to-date with the latest entertainment news to generate and suggest engaging article ideas
  • Scheduling and Posting: Manage the scheduling and posting of content across broadcast channels to maintain a consistent and timely presence
  • Task Backup: Serve as a backup for daily editorial tasks, including status updates, image posting, Facebook story postings, and managing editorial failures
  • Presentations: Present updates at townhall meetings and maintain a daily diary on a weekly basis to keep the team informed and aligned


Requirements

✔ You are enrolled at a German university for at least another year.

✔ You have a relevant study background, such as Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field.

✔ You are a native-level English (US) speaker or possess equivalent proficiency.

✔ You have proven experience in writing/editing/proofreading for online publishing platforms.

✔ You have exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.

✔ You are proficient in G Suite (Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides) for creating and managing content and presentations.

✔ You have the ability to use data-driven decision-making for conducting thorough research and fact-checking.

✔ You are capable of working effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and can adapt to changing priorities.

✔ Nice to have: You have a passion for US entertainment, current celebrity news, and the British royal family.

✔ Nice to have: You have experience with Trello, Slack, and Facebook Publishing.
