What you will be doing

The Head of Digital Transformation - EMEA oversees, but can also be hands-on in projects focused on deploying and supporting our global IT application landscape. This includes ensuring that the strategies for change management, user training, and application support are coordinated effectively.

  • Provide a strategic interface between business and IT, encourages stakeholder engagement, oversee relationship management and comprehend business requirements to best align technology solutions and services
  • In close alignment with Global DT, responsible for the end-to-end delivery of central applications using the global IT governance framework and adhering to Rhenus IT Policies, as well as RACI matrices that define the responsibilities of DT and other stakeholders
  • Lead project management resources, fostering a productive team environment, identifying and developing talents to build and maintain a professional team
  • Oversee rollout projects and new IT initiatives to support the growth of the business
  • Responsible for the internal/external communication and knowledge management foundation to provide key stakeholders and employees an established opportunity to obtain information about the Digital Transformation Strategy and Initiatives
  • Digital transformation aims to streamline and automate business processes, leading to increased operational efficiency. This objective involves, integrating systems through setup, adopting digital tools, and optimizing workflows to reduce manual effort, errors, and costs


You will be contributing to that vision by...


Implementation of internal Rhenus Air & Ocean applications

  • Continuous analysis of potentials for rollouts of further internal applications in your region
  • In coordination with central stakeholders, accountable for the initial implementation of internally used applications in your region, including project management for the entire rollout process
  • Manage further implementation of new functionality of internally used applications in your region, as well as the close alignment with important stakeholders during the process to ensure knowledge transfer
  • Ensure and facilitate the connection of internal applications to external systems that will further enhance digital transformation and operational efficiency
  • Stay up-to-date regarding standards and processes provided by Global Digital Transformation in order to successfully implement the digital strategy


Project Management for Digital Transformation

  • Create and/or collaborate with relevant parties to support the completion of all required documentation, including but not limited to SOPs, service scopes or technical guidelines, and training materials to ensure all stakeholders have the same understanding for further implementation.
  • Steering and monitoring, as well as reporting of the project portfolio to implement the digital strategy in your region towards Global Digital Transformation
  • Deliver tools, methodologies and training to ensure high quality, service and user acceptance


Communication, change and knowledge management

  • Regional communication of the Digital Transformation Strategy and related programs in an inspiring way to open up a mindset for change in the region
  • Ensure that the know-how of the digital applications is transferred properly within the region, especially viewing users as your customers to make sure the acceptance of new applications or functionality is high
  • Collaborating with regional stakeholders in such a way that they do not miss out on the transformation journey


What skills & experience you will bring to us

  • Completed studies in digital transformation, business informatics, economics, or equivalent
  • Professional experience (3-5 years) and profound knowledge in the area of management and/or technology consulting in the context of IT strategy, project management, and digital transformation, ideally with industry experience in logistics / international freight forwarding
  • Organizational multi-tasker with experience in digital transformation projects
  • Change managers able to work in a dynamic, fast-changing environment
  • Strong project management and analytical and conceptual skills
  • People-oriented personality able to coach and develop teams with creativity and team spirit
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and all levels of management
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) with the ability to effectively communicate and inspire in a diverse multicultural environment
  • Experience in team leadership and talent development
  • Willingness to communicate with stakeholders and colleagues from different time zones
  • Fluent English language skills, other European languages like Spanish or Italian are a benefit
