The GLS Group is looking for a

Corporate Data Protection Manager

GLS is one of the major players in the international parcel delivery market. Due to the e-commerce revolution, this market is growing and innovating rapidly. In your role as Corporate Data Protection Manager you report directly to the head of the Corporate Data Protection team and play a key role in the international Corporate Compliance & Directives team, developing the Group-wide Data Protection Framework, guiding and supporting local Data Protection Managers in 18 European countries.

Your office will be located in Eschborn, near Frankfurt/Main, Germany (remote working opportunities in Germany negotiable).

You will:

• Further develop the Corporate Data Protection Framework with a special focus on compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation
• Develop projects and processes to strengthen data protection in the international GLS organization and guide the country data protection functions in their implementation
• Design and implement data protection guidance, trainings and other awareness measures
• Provide indirect leadership and expert support for local Data Protection Managers in 18 European countries, including organizing yearly in-person meetings and providing input on location if required
• Act as link to the GLS Group IT organization, providing legal advice and coordinating data protection compliance for IT projects with Group-wide relevance
• Provide legal advice and coordinate data protection compliance for projects on corporate level.
• Represent GLS towards Data Protection Authorities and other external stakeholders
• Prepare communication documents and presentations, in particular for the top management of the GLS Group and its parent company, IDS

Your qualifications:

• Fully qualified lawyer in an EU jurisdiction with specialization in European data protection law and 3+ years of experience in a comparable role, ideally in an international corporation
• Solid understanding of technical and economic relationships; strong affinity for IT topics
• High level of organizational skills and structured way of working, ideally with experience in process and project management
• Fluency in English and the ability to present legal and technical issues in a practical manner
