This morning, Dirk Voigtländer and I presented ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE’s key financial results for the first quarter of 2024 and we can clearly say: Our strong start to the year shows that we are on the right track. In 2023, we have set a new course both operationally and strategically. In the first quarter, we are now seeing the first clear effects of our efficiency measures with Group revenues increasing by 6% and adjusted EBITDA growing by 35% year-on-year. The advertising business, which is particularly important for us, is continuing to recover – especially #Joyn is growing strongly. This shows that our strategic focus on digital reach pays off. At the same time, the Commerce & Ventures segment once again recorded significant double-digit revenue growth. Verivox GmbH and flaconi in particular are performing strongly. Even though the market and economic environment remains challenging, we are looking to 2024 with confidence and are therefore confirming our full-year outlook. We will continue to focus clearly on the strategically relevant business areas related to our Entertainment portfolio and continue our consistent management of costs and cash flows. Panel discussion about transforming education still keeps us awake at night, fueling our passion to create an education system that is inclusive, innovative, and equipped for the future. We appreciate this discussion and the insights shared by Judith E. White together with other panelists: 💡 PAIN POINTS in the Existing System: **Lack of Holistic Education**: Education is often not integrated holistically, except in isolated projects and public schools. **Bureaucracy Stifling Creativity**: Bureaucratic hurdles prevent creativity and further development. **Fixed Mindset**: Many actors in the system have a fixed mindset, lacking growth orientation. **Interdisciplinary Gaps**: Interdisciplinary thinking and action are scarcely promoted and practiced. **Access Inequality**: Education should be accessible to everyone, regardless of origin or financial situation. **Leadership Deficit**: Leadership within the system should be visionary and entrepreneurial. **Gender/Diversity Imbalance**: There is a significant lack of gender and diversity balance in the development of AI and technology. 💡 POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS: 🌟 Joint Strategy Development: Collaborate with stakeholders in the education system, including pupils, parents, and experts from home and abroad, to create a new, holistic education system tailored for digital transformation and the implementation of AI and VR. AI can bridge the personalization gap, providing tailored solutions and deepening customer understanding for brands and retailers, which is critical for customer engagement. 🤝 In this context, I showcased our great project with Fit & Alive Cosmetics, where we are already using AI for better customer engagement and a more personalized customer journey. Once again, many thanks to Marcus Boer and Onur Iskur for your trust! 🙏 AI is already having a major impact on retail today. But the future holds exciting things, too, when we think about using quantum-inspired methods. 🤩 Here are some of the insights I shared in my keynote: ・ Quantum-inspired solutions can speed up every step of the supply chain by solving complex optimization problems in real time. ・ They can provide accurate predictions of customer behavior and trends by rapidly analyzing massive amounts of data ・ Retailers can make real-time adjustments to operations based on more accurate and faster optimization results, resulting in increased efficiency and responsiveness. ・ They can offer enhanced recommendations: even more nuanced and personalized by analyzing a wider range of variables and interactions at once. ・ Analyzing complex consumer data can lead to the development of products that better meet consumer needs and preferences. 📰 My Cofounder is featured in two leading newspapers this morning!👏👏 My cofounder at Footprint Technologies, Carolin Kleinert, gave two interviews for #Sueddeutsche and #Tagesspiegel about a recent study of Startup-Verband that investigated the socio demographic background of #startup founders. It clearly proofs founders typically are originating from families with academic backgrounds or from parents who are entrepreneurs themselves. The majority - but not all of them. Carolin is a great example of this minority who also made it without academic parents or without entrepreneurial role-models within their core families. I am sharing a similar family background, both of my parents do neither have an academic education, nor are they entrepreneurs themselves. It is possible, but it needs more visibility and sharing of such positive examples, so that more and more #Arbeiterkinder are considering becoming entrepreneurs as a career option. This would be a benefit for themselves as well as for our society and economy! For that reason I am celebrating the two articles about Carolin's personal story! 😍 👏 👉 Please check the articles and share them! 🙏

I still cannot find the right words to capture the magic of the evening and the incredible quartet on stage! Let me at least summarize my learnings from our amazing speakers: 🔸 Ebony Simone Morczinek, CFO at Blacklane "Everything in life starts with a thought. Our thoughts create this reality. So please envision your future. And think big in numbers." For Ebony, it’s 10 million. Her presence transforms every room into a cathedral. She embodies what it means to deserve space and be confident. Her biggest advice still gives me goosebumps: "Know your trauma before you enter a negotiation!" 🔸 Dr. Martina Pesic, Negotiation Expert This woman is obsessed with negotiations. She wrote her diploma and PhD on negotiation. You can even book her for "shadow negotiation." Her key advice: Be prepared and know your tactics. She empowered us women (and male allies) in the room: Don’t introduce numbers too early before you’ve sold your value. A number is like an anchor—the first number sticks. 🔸 Stefanie Voss, Leadership Coach She is truly an adventurer; Stefanie sailed around the world! Her claim is: be a pirate, not a princess when entering negotiations! Pirates have one core superpower: Audacity! It’s the conscious decision to move beyond fear ("I don’t dare to..."), shame ("What will people think..."), conventions ("The status quo..."), and rules ("This is how it is done"). I loved how she provided concrete examples of how to train your audacity with tiny habits. For example, walk up to a policewoman and thank her for keeping us safe during the European soccer cup. 🔸 Coco Decrouppé, Leadership Coach 🥅⚽️👩🏫 Coco is from Austria, and she chose to spend time with us rather than watch the Austrian soccer team win last night! What a coach! She introduced us to her 'The Soccer Field Model©️,' a tool she developed to understand the driving forces in negotiations. What I will never forget: Negotiation starts with Level 1: focus on myself! If I don’t care for my emotions, I won’t set clear boundaries. Kudos to our moderator 🎤Antje Venjakob, who orchestrated the evening with such a lovely flow! A huge thank you to Blacklane and in particular Brenda Omari & Abigail Pfeiffer for hosting this event. What happens when 8 startups and seasoned mentors collide at WHU? Pure magic! Yesterday, I had the opportunity to participate in a Mentor Mayhem Marathon at the WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management Startup Accelerator, wonderfully organized by Maximilian Eckel and Niklas Geiss. We were a group of mentors who spoke to 8 startups to help them solve one burning question or, a slew of questions following a short pitch presentation, all in under 20 minutes. Speaking with these startups, and with so many other organizations of various sizes, here are the four cardinal sins I see play out on repeat on the regular. 1: Missing the Product-Problem Fit How it works: → Teams often chase "product-market fit" without understanding the underlying problem. → Ensure your product addresses a real need before pursuing market share. → Assess if your team has the expertise to solve the problem effectively.
