    I worked with the young and ambitious team at the Lithuanian chapter of Transparency International to launch a local version of the map of corruption, help them out with a number of technical questions, and participated in a Transparency summer school bringing together young anti-corruption activists from around the world. While training the team to use cutting edge technology to advance the cause, I was learning from them how to use media and engage - often times skeptical - stakeholders to support the efforts to introduce more transparency in public sector and state enterprise management.

    I joined the team of Holocaust Memorial Museum researchers on their trips throughout the Lithuanian countryside in the search of living Holocaust witnesses and helped the US team to communicate with them during the recording of field interviews and follow-up video testimonials. It was a moving experience that helped me discover history through the eyes and memories of living people, my fellow compatriots. It also sensitized me to the importance of teaching the younger generation about these…

    I joined the team of Holocaust Memorial Museum researchers on their trips throughout the Lithuanian countryside in the search of living Holocaust witnesses and helped the US team to communicate with them during the recording of field interviews and follow-up video testimonials. It was a moving experience that helped me discover history through the eyes and memories of living people, my fellow compatriots. It also sensitized me to the importance of teaching the younger generation about these historical events and made me realize just how much the political elites in my country in particular, and in Eastern Europe at large, have failed at this task.
