With a funky backbeat, sultry vocals and a stuttering, compelling guitar riff, Mãs' disco-indie "Higher Spirit" is a flirty and lively track. We licensed the song to imbue McDonald's Polska's latest McWrap spot with a light, playful spirit. Check it out below! Agency: DDB Warszawa | Production Company: Dobro | Director: Maciej Kowalczuk

How similar is AI-created music to popular and beloved classics? According to a recent lawsuit by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) brought against AI Music Generators Udio and Suno, AI-created tracks can skew remarkably close to pre-existing songs. Aside from potential accusations of infringement arising from the output of the AI models, this lawsuit is largely anchored on the allegations that AI models were trained on vast record libraries of pre-existing tracks without permission, something which at this point is unclear given that neither Suno, nor Udio have made their training data public. What surprised us the most was how close, both stylistically and in terms of composition, the AI output is to the originals (think about the use of James Brown’s WOW, or The melodic lines of Michael Bublé’s Sway). When put side-by-side, the claims made by the RIAA seem a lot more obvious. This raises skepticism regarding AI’s readiness for use in commercial projects, as well as its fitness for use in music production in general. That’s our opinion, but have a look for yourself!
