It's almost time to witness the first #Tamandaré Class #frigate in all its splendor! In two weeks, this vessel will be named as the Tamandaré Frigate #F200 during a ceremony at thyssenkrupp Estaleiro Brasil, our shipyard located in Itajaí, in the southern region of Brazil. While we eagerly await the ceremony day, let's take a closer look at one of the ship's most essential parts: the #propeller. The propeller is fundamental for movement in the water, transforming the engine's mechanical energy into thrust through the rotation of its blades. The Tamandaré Class frigates are equipped with controllable pitch propellers, allowing the adjustment of the blade positions to achieve different objectives such as greater operational #efficiency, lower fuel consumption, improved #maneuverability, and reduced vibration and underwater noise – essential for stealth military operations.

The #Tamandaré #frigate will be launched in three weeks at our Shipyard Estaleiro Brasil Sul. We are organizing all the preparations for this highly anticipated moment with Marinha do Brasil, Águas Azuis, and EMGEPRON - Empresa Gerencial de Projetos Navais, and we are very excited. Located in Itajaí (SC) and occupying 310,000 m², thyssenkrupp Estaleiro Brasil Sul is a landmark of innovation in the Brazilian naval sector. We use highly automated production processes and cutting-edge technologies to build large vessels and naval defense projects. With a team of over 1,300 employees, both direct and indirect, we operate in facilities designed for maximum efficiency and productivity, applying cutting-edge engineering and rigorous quality, health, and occupational safety processes. Our partnership with Embraer and ATECH – NEGÓCIOS EM TECNOLOGIAS S/A in the SPE Águas Azuis, for the construction of the Tamandaré Class Frigates for the Marinha do Brasil and EMGEPRON, reaffirms our commitment to generating qualified jobs and transferring technology between Germany and Brazil. Recently, our shipyard was doubly recognized for its excellence in socio-environmental management: we received certification from the Social Seal program by the Prefeitura de Itajaí and the Fritz Müller Award, the main environmental award in Santa Catarina. These achievements result from our initiatives focused on the socio-economic and environmental development of our region, including the optimization of waste recycling technologies, the reduction of carbon footprint through the use of clean energy, and environmental education projects in the Itajaí community.

The launch of the #Tamandaré #F200 frigate, the first of its class, is scheduled in 30 days, and we are eagerly counting down. As we finalize preparations with Marinha do Brasil, Águas Azuis and EMGEPRON - Empresa Gerencial de Projetos Navais for this important milestone, let's take a closer look at the command bridge. Known as the command bridge or #pilothouse, it's where the captain and their team operate and oversee all #maneuvers and #navigations. It's considered the frigate's brain, where all critical decisions are made. Installing this component is a crucial step for the vessel's operation and safety! The bridge centralizes control over all navigation and communication operations, ensuring the frigate can respond swiftly to any situation. Equipped with advanced radar technology, communication systems, and navigation instruments, it enables the vessel to operate smoothly in any maritime condition. We're proud to contribute our expertise to this project, delivering cutting-edge naval technology for the Brazilian Navy.

Traditionally, on the last Saturday of the #KielerWoche, the Windjammer Parade takes place on the Kiel Fjord. A spectacle that is watched and accompanied by many on land and on water. More than 80 guests followed the invitation of our CEO Oliver Burkhard and enjoyed a sail out. Employees and members of the Executive and Supervisory Boards of thyssenkrupp, such as CEO Miguel Ángel López Borrego, #thyssenkrupp Marine Systems, ATLAS ELEKTRONIK GmbH as well as representatives of the Schleswig-Holstein state government were on board. The countdown continues! Only 40 days left until the launch of the Tamandaré F200 frigate, the first of its class, at our shipyard Estaleiro Brasil Sul.   Today, we're excited to highlight another important step towards the launch: the arrival of the DOCKSHORE I floating dock. This crucial equipment is responsible for transporting and correctly positioning the ship for launching into the water, allowing us to complete the final stages of construction with precision.   The dock's journey from Niterói (RJ) to Itajaí (SC) was meticulously planned and supervised by the Marinha do Brasil with the participation of Praticagem, ensuring safe maneuvers. This collaboration is essential as the professionals involved have extensive knowledge of the region, weather conditions, and ship characteristics, enabling us to carry out operations with maximum efficiency.
