We develop the brain of future mobility towards Level 5 Autonomy. Our goal is to remove the barrier between traditional ways of aerial mobility and the innovative AI-based opportunities. We are convinced, that a deeper understanding of the progressive potential for self-flying vehicles will change our behaviors of movement, transportation and aerial reconnaissance in the same fundamental way the invention of the airplane did decades before.

Deep Tech taking center stage at the European Defense Tech Hackathon in Munich 🚀 While only being there as a visitor, I took the chance today to discuss recent developments and insights into the space with some of the ambitious startup and hackathon teams at the event. What stands out is, that there is a significant need to take action and ensure that we develop tech sovereignty in the critical parts of the technology stack of future dual-use and defense products. 💡 Cost effectiveness becomes one of the most critical factors in the industry. Startups like TYTAN Technologies and ARX Robotics focus on providing fit for purpose products at 50x lower cost than traditional equipment. 💡 This cost cutting is also enabled by AI and computer vision. Drones and other equipment is becoming smaller and more autonomous, leading to the ability to effectively utilize it in swarms or platoons. Great to see the Spleenlab GmbH team to share some datasets from their development efforts as a challenge in this area within the hackathon. 💡 Data collection and management is a totally different story when it comes to defense use-cases. While already a big topic in civilian use, this poses a substantial challenge here. Last but not least - it has been a good chance to catch up with some well known faces from our fellow tech companies such as Balazs Nagy and Sukumar Karthigeyan 🚀
Recently, our friends from KEF Robotics have shown, how to use #GaussianSplatting for neural #TacticalMapping, what an impressive post! 😎 Coincidentally, we have implemented a similar solution. Recently, we had a lot of fun doing #FPV flights during our flight testing. We processed the footage, can you guess what are real and what are fully neural #AI flights? 🤯🤯🤯 (Answer in comments please) Ping Stefan Milz or Florian Seibel, if you need this for Quantum-Systems GmbH #Qbase #Vector #Twister 🚀🚀🚀

Last day at Computer Vision Foundation #CVPR was great. What a conference. My impressions are mixed but above all overwhelming. #AutonomousDriving and #Robotics are no longer quite as dominant as they have been in recent years. However, there are many representatives on site: Wayve, Waymo Gatik, Zoox, Ford Motor Company Latidude, Spleenlab GmbH and there are significant papers, especially in the field of perception. I was particularly impressed by Zenseact Paper #NeuRAD 🚀 https://lnkd.in/d6T62Ryf , but also the work from Simon Doll, Markus Enzweiler et al. presenting a new approach for perception in #end2end driving leveraging the idea of disentangling moving and static objects, being simply #faster and #better in prediction, tracking and detection as #SOTA. 🤯🤯🤯 https://lnkd.in/dQUTfsa2 In general #CLIP and #NeuralRendering are omnipresent. Importantly, we can mention #BioCLIP and #MipSplatting as both best student papers: https://lnkd.in/dR-nx3Ba, https://lnkd.in/drey8yhi However, the 🌎 world is moving towards general #embodiedAI. So many applications / papers utilizing and „#grounding“ pre-trained #FoundationModel for applications like detection, segmentation, … : 👉🏻 https://lnkd.in/dX7kF5-u by Hilde Kuehne et al. Wayve has thus also proven to be in tune with the times. Thanks again Cameron Tuckerman-Lee and Alex Kendall for participating in our workshop #SAIAD for Safe AI and thanks for the great evening event 🍻. #SAIAD brings me to one of the last points, by far the most impressive was Ludwig Schmidt‘s speech regarding robust AI and domain shifts with reference to CLIP and his new #DataCOMP together with Stanford University, Apple and more https://lnkd.in/djtSx49U. This is only a very limited part of the conference, many thanks to my colleagues and PhD Students Victor Kallenbach and Lars Hinneburg for supporting all the time. Looking forward next year …
