CrowdStrike has finalized their investigation into the cyber threat we recently navigated. Their findings align with the previous report from Mandiant (part of Google Cloud) that unauthorized access to Snowflake customer accounts did not stem from a breach of Snowflake's environment. Supporting customer security is vitally important to Snowflake's commitment to being a Customer First in all that we do, and we’re continuing to invest in technology and tools in service of our customers. Today, we are announcing general availability of Snowflake Trust Center, which will help customers bolster their security posture with its Security Essentials scanning package, and automatic checks against our recently announced CIS Snowflake Foundations Benchmark, which outlines Snowflake’s robust security capabilities, as well as security best practices for our customers. As part of our Shared Responsibility Model, Snowflake Trust Center employs three key pillars to help customers increase their security posture: 🛡 Prompt: Encourages MFA adoption by guiding users through setup directly within Snowsight. Non-compliance prompts reappear until setup is complete. 🔐 Enforce: Admins can now mandate MFA for all users via enhanced Authentication Policies, ensuring security-by-default across accounts, including local and SSO users. 📊 Monitor: Provides visibility into security policy adherence with tools like the Security Essentials scanner package, which checks for MFA compliance and network policy usage. To further reinforce our dedication to customer data security, Snowflake will also soon require MFA for all individuals in newly created Snowflake accounts.
