750 women, one mission: Our women@Rheinmetall network wants to actively help shape the future of Rheinmetall – with project ideas from within the community.  The mission of the community is clearly defined for the next few years: To create a space where the femininity and potential of every person is seen as a key contribution to Rheinmetall’s business success. Today you can read why Michaela Neues joined the core team of women@Rheinmetall. Michaela Neues from Recruitment has been a member of the community since 2018. Neues first heard about women@Rheinmetall from her manager Monica Wertheim, who has brought women@Rheinmetall to life. She was a believer from the start and especially enjoyed the virtual events. “I remember ‘Talk & Learns’ with a lot of inspiring women. Or all our virtual conferences with large numbers of participants. Seeing what so many women here have been able to achieve is frankly fantastic – for all employees, not just for women.” Neues has been working as the core team’s communications specialist for a year now. She can’t wait for the call for projects phase in June: “I’m so excited to see what kinds of ground-breaking project ideas our employees suggest and how we can make them a reality down the line.” Find out more about our shapers of change: https://lnkd.in/dmkGqfCK More insights into our women@Rheinmetall network: https://lnkd.in/eh_yty-s #womenatrheinmetall #rheinmetall #career #femaleempowerment #diversity

On 10 July 2024, Saxony's State Secretary Thomas Kralinski visited the production facility of Rheinmetall subsidiary Pierburg Pump Technology Ltd at its site in Hartha (Mittelsachsen district). Rheinmetall is planning to invest around €31m in this site to ensure production in the industrial sector even in times of transformation in the automotive industry towards modern, sustainable drive forms and “beyond automotive”. On the occasion of the visit, the State Secretary presented the company representatives with a funding notification totalling €7.66m. The funds are from the federal-state programme Joint Task for the Improvement of Regional Economic Structures (ger. Gemeinschaftsaufgabe Verbesserung der regionalen Wirtschaftsstruktur GRW). It was only in March 2024, that a new production hall was completed at the site for the production of innovative DC link capacitors, which are superior to standard market technologies thanks to their electrical properties and temperature stability. At the heart of these innovative capacitors are nano-layer units made of plastic and aluminium, which are to be manufactured on site in the future. This involves the development of brand new technologies, as the special high-vacuum chemical process and a product with a layer density of one thousandth of a millimetre constitute uncharted territory. It also requires close dialogue with other sites, experts from the joint venture partner PolyCharge in the USA and machine manufacturers. Once the current process for sample production has been completed this production line will be a ticket to the site's future. This is due to the capacitor’s capability of introducing an entirely new era in the electrification of the automotive and industrial markets, and is therefore one of Rheinmetall's most important strategic projects in the civil sector. Thomas Kralinski appreciates the innovative strength of the technology group and justifies the funding notification: “Pierburg Pump Technology has recognised the signs of the times. The company is acting foresightedly and is mastering the transformation of the supplier industry with clever concepts by broadening its base and tapping into new markets beyond the automotive sector with new technologies. I am delighted that our GRW funding is supporting this investment in rural areas and strengthening this traditional factory in the long run.” Christoph Müller (Division Head of Power Systems) is very delighted about the support by the Free State of Saxony and the personal visit of State Secretary Thomas Kralinski: “The site in Hartha has been in existence for over 100 years, and with Pierburg Pump Technology Ltd, has been an important part of the Read more... https://lnkd.in/gnhyGASD #Rheinmetall #Hartha #technology

𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝗥𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗹 This year, the inclusion teams and the Group severely handicapped employee representative (KSBV) met near Düsseldorf for the Germany-wide 𝘙𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘐𝘯𝘤𝘭𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘋𝘢𝘺. The two-day event brought together 35 participants, including Peter Sebastian Krause, CHRO of Rheinmetall AG, to discuss the focal topic of severe disability. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗮 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 • The new Group works agreement on inclusion was presented before a constructive exchange about "Accessibility in recruitment" started. • The representatives of the inclusion teams presented their annual reports. They showed what progress they have made on the topic of inclusion and which points are on their to-do list. 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲  The second day was all about property projects, vocational training and personnel development. The latter were discussed in two workshops. • Workshop 1: Raising awareness and sensitisation for managers and employees Among other things, the workshop group analysed barriers relating to the use of media and documents for severely disabled people or participation in face-to-face or virtual meetings. The experts also discussed how managers and employees can be made even more aware of the topic of inclusion and how possible fears of contact can be overcome in their dealings with one another. As the spectrum of disabilities is always very individual, communicative dialogue between people with and without disabilities is a particularly important factor for inclusion to succeed. Concrete implementation options therefore were identified. • Workshop 2: Guidelines for vocational training The second group worked on methods, strategies and an exemplary definition for a standardised procedure in the application and recruitment process and during vocational training. Together, they identified measures and interfaces from the application process to the completion of training. The results are to be incorporated into the creation of a new guideline for colleagues from the Representative Council for Severely Disabled Employees and for those responsible for vocational training. 𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄-𝘂𝗽 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀  Caroline-Ann Schmitz, who is responsible for the topic of inclusion across the Group and organiser and Global Health Manager, and Ulrich Sporleder, Chairman of the Representative Body for Severely Disabled Employees at Rheinmetall, took home a number of points from the discussions and results of the Inclusion Day. "The Rheinmetall Inclusion Day strengthens our resolve to continue on the path we have chosen together," summarises Sporleder. Schmitz adds: "The intensive professional dialogue, best practice sharing and 'inclusion – simply do it' are particularly important. After all, inclusion is a topic that concerns us all." #rheinmetall #diversity #inclusion #equity #takingresponsibility

    • Head of Corporate Health Solutions Caroline-Ann Schmitz is standing in her office and being quoted as saying: Inclusion is an issue that affects everyone; inclusion means welcoming diversity. By valuing and respecting diversity, we create a working environment in which everyone can develop their potential. The aim of the Inclusion Day is to exchange ideas, share best practices and work on topics together - in other words, to simply do it."

LEONARDO AND RHEINMETALL SIGN A STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE NEXT LAND DEFENSE SYSTEMS Leonardo and Rheinmetall have signed today a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a new 50:50 joint venture aimed at developing a European industrial and technological approach in the field of land defense systems. The objective of the agreement is the industrial development and subsequent commercialization of the new Main Battle Tank (MBT) and the new Lynx Platform for the Armoured Infantry Combat System (AICS), within the Italian Army’s ground systems programs. Armin Papperger, CEO of Rheinmetall AG: "With Leonardo and Rheinmetall, two leading European suppliers of defence technology are joining forces to realise ambitious projects. Together we want to set new standards and open the door to a new generation of state-of-the-art combat vehicles in and for Europe. In doing so, we are addressing the Italian market as well as other partner countries that have a need for modernisation in the field of combat systems." Roberto Cingolani, CEO of Leonardo: “Technology and industrial synergies between Leonardo and Rheinmetall are a unique opportunity to develop state-of-the-art Main Battle Tanks and Infantry Vehicles. We consider this agreement a fundamental contribution to the creation of a European defense space” In particular, the future joint venture - headquartered in Italy - will be the Lead System Integrator, prime-contractor and system integrator, in both the Italian programs (MBT and AICS) and will define the roadmap for the participation in the future European Main Ground Combat System (MGCS). Within the MBT and AICS programs, mission systems, electronics suites and weapons integration will be developed and produced by Leonardo according to the requirements of the Italian client. The technologies will also be the basis for the development of the future European MBT (MGCS) and the new versions intended for international export. With the newly developed Panther main battle tank and the new Lynx infantry fighting vehicle, Rheinmetall has the appropriate basic technology on which to build in both programmes. Final assembly lines, homologation testing, delivering activities and the logistic support will be done in Italy with an Italian workshare of 60%. The implementation of the MoU signed today will be subject to prior approval by the competent regulatory authorities, including the European Commission and the respective national competition authorities.
