Throughout these discussions, we have become inspired by these topics and connected with individuals eager to research deeper within this intersection. Thus, we created the 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗜! In our new 𝗥𝗘 𝗔𝗜 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀, we will continuously share insights from the discussions within the SIG. 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗡𝗲𝘄𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗜𝗥𝗘𝗕!   𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 #IREB 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆. With this new initiative, we strive to integrate #sustainability into early phases of software development—starting with #RequirementsEngineering and the #DigitalDesign of solutions.    Special Interest Groups (SIGs) at IREB play a crucial role in shaping the future of Requirements Engineering and Digital Design. With a SIG on #artificialintelligence and now also one on sustainability, we are paving the way for significant advancements in these critical areas in both industry and research.    𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟭𝟭 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘂𝗴𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗦𝗜𝗚 𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, where we were joined by enthusiastic participants ready to join us on this path. 𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗲 Eddy Groen 𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗦𝗜𝗚. Under his leadership, we aim to reshape how sustainability is integrated from the ground up. As a key figure in the requirements engineering community and prior endeavors towards sustainability, Eddy brings a wealth of knowledge and an innovative approach to our SIG.    IREB recognizes the importance of early-stage decision-making in #sustainabledevelopment. As the leading board in Requirements Engineering, we are ideally positioned to lead this cause, positioning #digitalsustainability as a fundamental aspect of development processes from both the system perspective (Green IT) and its functionality and impact (Green by IT).    𝗧𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿, 𝗹𝗲𝘁’𝘀 𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱. It's been about 1.5 years since the launch of #ChatGPT, and a year since Camille Salinesi's #REMagazine article explored what that first public version knew about #RequirementsEngineering. Since then, the landscape has changed quite a bit. Higher performance models like GPT-4 have been released. Moreover, the hypothetical use cases Camille described for applying #AI to Requirements Engineering education and practice have at this point become reality across many organizations. RE professionals now use large language models regularly for tasks like requirements analysis, prototyping, documentation, and more. With AI's role in RE evolving at such a pace, revisiting Camille's interaction with an earlier ChatGPT gives an insightful viewpoint on just how far this trajectory has progressed in a short time.
