    Pride Month - How proud are we? Pride Month is almost over, and while we celebrate diversity, we also need to ask: How is respect, integrity and dignity for the LGBTQ+ community progressing? Although 2.5% of all marriages in Germany are same-sex, parenthood remains a challenge for many LGBTQ+ couples. The descent law complicates matters, as non-biological parents must adopt their own children - a bureaucratic hurdle that heterosexual couples do not face. The new self-determination law is a step forward, but it also brings new tensions. Some feel that too much is being done for queer people and not enough for other marginalized groups. The result? Continued discrimination and exclusion. Shockingly, studies show that 80% of all young people have already experienced discrimination online, simply because of their sexual orientation or gender identity. The situation is not much better in the workplace: 70% of LGBTQ+ employees in Germany hide their true identity for fear of disadvantages and exclusion. However, a StepStone survey of 11,000 people also shows that equality and diversity are increasingly important factors in job choice. 77% of respondents prefer companies that actively promote diversity, and 78% want to work in an environment characterized by openness and diversity. Indeed, those figures show progress, but the road to equality is still under construction. In my eyes, each of us can contribute to making our society and our workplaces more inclusive - every single day. We must not stop fighting for the rights and acceptance of all.     The Need for In-person Interaction in the Modern Business Environment Like most companies during the pandemic, HRS shifted to full-time remote work for all of our employees. Though it worked well for us at the time, it also drove home why in-person interaction is essential in the modern business environment. If you want your team to cohere and learn to work together, they need to interact in-person, and they need to have a home office to do it in. If you want to achieve your company’s full potential, every one of your employees needs to understand that they are a part of the bigger picture. To do that, you have to show them the bigger picture - literally. Working together in one space, everyone can see the many components that interlock to keep HRS succeeding. Employees can see how one process informs another and makes the whole organization run. It’s what allows HRS team members to understand how they fit into the big picture - and want to keep contributing to that big picture. If we were all isolated in our little silos, working remotely, they couldn’t see that. Team members and contributors become isolated workers. You lose the vision, and the motivation follows. It comes down to this: those in-person office interactions we once took for granted don’t just accelerate business processes. They build the team you need to succeed. They’re what inspire your workers to go the extra mile, think up the next idea, and solve the next problem. If we want to succeed as business leaders, it’s our duty to impart our vision for what we want to achieve to our employees. Part of that duty is bringing everyone together to work in-person, in a place where they want to be. Over the last three days, I had the privilege of being part of an extraordinary event – HRS Inductions Days. With around 80 Tribe members hailing from diverse corners of the world, we embarked on a journey that truly redefined our perspectives. 🌈 Day 1: Unveiling Our DNA The first day was all about delving deep into the DNA of HRS - its history and culture. A reminder of where we come from and what makes us who we are. This rich understanding lays the foundation for our journey ahead. 🌱 Day 2: Nurturing the Ecosystem and Solutions Day two took us into the heart of HRS' ecosystem and solutions. It was awe-inspiring to witness the sheer breadth of our offerings and the commitment to innovation. We're not just a company; we're pioneers reinventing the way business travel stay, work, and pay. Sustainability and data-driven strategies are at our core. 🛤️ Day 3: The Customer Journey The final day was a learning of the customer journey. We went through each single step and learned that our focus is always on the customer and partner viewpoint.
