Achieving net-zero emissions in power generation requires alternative fuels. We convened a roundtable to explore role of ammonia for the transition in the electricity, marine and defense sectors. Various stakeholders were part of the discussion, including hydrogen and ammonia producers, electricity providers, maritime and naval representatives, technology transfer experts and academics. The technology has a long tradition, a stable industrial base and feasible end-point adoption costs. However, safety and environmental concerns, scalability and the food/energy security dilemma still need to be addressed. With the right financing models, much of this will become attainable. We will be discussing more about alternative fuels and energy security at the #HSC24. Check out our roundtable reports on the website for more insights! #NetZeroEmissions #CleanEnergyFinancing #AlternativeFuels

How can we increase sustainable development in Emerging Markets and Developing Economies? Effective partnerships between Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs), United Nations agencies, Regional Development Banks, and the Private Sector are essential. By leveraging their unique strengths and fostering collaboration, we can optimize financial resources and technical expertise. Initiatives like Integrated National Financing Frameworks (INFFs) and recommendations from the G20 Independent Expert Group highlight the importance of coordinated action. Join us at #HSC24 as we delve deeper into these strategies and work towards driving impactful development and creating scalable, sustainable solutions. Did you know that over 60% of the world's population resides in Emerging Markets and Developing Economies (EMDEs), yet the regions face significant challenges in sustainable transport infrastructure? At our recent Round Table discussion in Brussels and looking ahead to #HSC24, we are preparing to delve into the challenges, shedding light on the fact that only 20% of infrastructure investment in EMDEs comes from the private sector. Collaboration between private stakeholders, national and local governments, and development finance institutions is essential for bridging this gap and driving impactful infrastructure development. Let's explore the challenges together and pave the way for resilient and efficient transport networks in Emerging Markets and Developing Economies. #InfrastructureDevelopment #SustainableTransport #HSC24

Participate in shaping the sustainable transportation landscape at #HSC24 on October 7 - 8. With over 80 leaders from various sectors in attendance, we delved into crucial dialogues on transportation and gender equity during our latest Round Table in collaboration with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH / GIZ México and Women Mobilize Women in Mexico. The Round Table shed light on the importance of addressing the diverse needs of women, children, indigenous communities, and individuals with disabilities in transportation systems. Key takeaways emphasized the significance of international collaboration in fostering equitable mobility, recognizing it as a fundamental right impacting access to education and healthcare. Let's keep the momentum going in bridging gender gaps and crafting inclusive transportation solutions! #GenderEquity #TransportationInnovation.

Don't miss our dialogues at #HSC24. Our Round Table in partnership with German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS) focuses on addressing road safety challenges head-on. How can we meet the challenge of road safety amidst urbanization and increasing travel, especially for pedestrians, cyclists, and public transport users? Who should take the lead in implementing policies for safer roads? With an alarming global fatality rate of 1.19 million annually, disproportionately affecting vulnerable road users, solutions necessitate integrated policies and a prioritization of alternative transport modes. Let's form alliances to make our streets safer. #RoadSafety #UrbanMobility
