Pedal to the metal into the future: Our Junior Company's Hydrogen Model Car 🏎️💧 Every year, our Junior Company, consisting of apprentices and dual students in the second year at our #Esslingen and #Neunkirchen sites, takes on the challenge of further improving #sustainability at Eberspächer. Their ambitious goal for this year ❓ Building the hydrogen model car "SpeedyH2". From initial planning and design, to technical implementation, budget control, and finally getting the model car on the road, each step required commitment and #teamwork. 💡 Highlights of this project included gaining proficiency in the #hydrogen business, taking on responsibilities and the rewarding experience of executing a project independently. The efforts paid off. The final presentation to the management board showed that our young #DedicatedPeople can already contribute to the #CleanMobility of the future, even on a small scale. Eberspächer employees run together for success! 🏆 Once again, more than 20 of our #DedicatedPeople took part in the 24th "Eßlinger Zeitung Lauf" in #Esslingen, Germany. 🏃♂️ And thousands of spectators were cheering them on along the 10 km course through the historic city. Everyone was at the start, even our little champions from the Eberspächer daycare center showed their sporting spirit in the children's races and impressed us all with their determination. In addition to insights into our Business Units, departments and products, the event focused on personal interaction and having fun together. The get-to-know sessions let people make initial contacts, which were deepened during a cooking workshop and dinner. We are ready for the future! 📈 In fiscal year 2023 we achieved the operational turnaround by consistently managing measures. The Eberspächer Group generated a net revenue of EUR 3.0 billion, an increase of 10.3% compared to the previous year. Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) adjusted for extraordinary items totaled EUR 58.0 million. The significant improvement in cash flow also illustrates the effectiveness of the measures introduced. While customer demand for products relating to conventional drives remained at a high level globally, around 90% of revenue in the area of thermal management and vehicle electronics were already generated with products that are independent of the passenger car combustion engine. We are driving the transformation forward in a targeted manner by transferring existing technologies to new business areas and increasing efficiency and competitiveness in the core business. 🔋 🚗 From lane keeping assist to automatic parking – alongside the trend towards electric drives, the automation of various functions in vehicles is increasing. Against this background, we are #launching a battery management system (BMS) with an on-board network connection for the 12V lithium-iron-phosphate starter battery of a leading international manufacturer. In order to ensure the necessary safety for automated driving, the vehicle electronics in the car need to know the status of the battery. Only then it can be guaranteed that actions are completed, and functions can react in the event of a fault. The BMS monitors and protects the battery cells and regulates the charging and discharging behavior. The vehicle electronics recognize the battery condition via the interface to the on-board electrical system. This launch makes Eberspächer one of the first companies in Europe with such a product in series production. Just like the thrilling action that's taking place on soccer fields across Europe right now, we've started our own friendly competition! 🤝⚽ Last week we held our first Intercompany Tournament at our Purem by Eberspächer location in #Tondela, Portugal. The event brought together six regional companies to compete for glory on the football pitch. The atmosphere was filled with great #sportsmanship, fair play, and lots of fun.
