If we want to change our food system, we need to involve all actors. We're very excited to collaborate with Crédito Agrícola, the leading bank in Portugal supporting farmers in regenerative agriculture. Crédito Agricola will be financing a training day for farmers in viticulture, a core farming business that also has huge potential in the regenerative transition. We can give away 3 places at the event to our community. If you're interested in joining, fill out the form below. For Portuguese viticulture farmers only 🍇 🇵🇹 Taking place: Quinta de Covela, 18.07.2024 Edit: Unfortunately we are full now, but there will be more opportunities in the future. Thanks for your interest!

Empowering people is one of the most effective ways to mitigate climate change. Another record temperature of 51 degrees has just occurred in Saudi Arabia. Along with wildfires, drought, and flooding, unnecessary devastation from extreme heat and climate change is not a distant reality. It’s happening now. No matter who or where you are, everyone can take action for a healthy planet. We are all united in the need for clean air, healthy land, and a livable future. It’s time to scale solutions like regenerative agriculture to limit the impact of extreme weather. Graphic source: UN Environment Programme #GenerationRestoration

If we want to change our food system, we need to find common ground. We’re proud to partner with Kiss The Ground and Akademie Schloss Kirchberg for a very special screening of Common Ground (Movie) at the World Organic Forum. The film unveils a dark web of unjust practices that have forged our current food system. Drawing on deeply personal stories, it provides a podium to a movement of farmers using regenerative approaches to restore ecosystems, health, and climate - before it’s too late. Join us on the 1st of July, 8 PM at the World Organic Forum for this open screening followed by a panel with our very own Ivo Degn. The screening is free and open to all. Herberto brunk is the manager of Herdade das Escravide de Baixo, an arable farm in Portugal. His father farmed conventionally for years. But with bad soil erosion, he realised that conventional farming wasn’t cutting it. In 2021, he started his transition to regenerative agriculture. 🌱 Three years on, his organic matter is at 3% while his fertiliser costs are at 0€. Soil erosion. Most farmers dread it, but the farmers who joined our recent farm event are taking steps to tackle it. At El Alcorniquilo, we were joined by a group of dedicated livestock farmers to connect, learn and share their stories. We explored how farmers can build resilience using their livestock as a tool to regenerate the soil and increase their resilience to soil erosion. From delicious food to engaging discussions, we left feeling inspired and energised. Thank you to Manolo, his team and all who joined us 💚

Fermín is the manager of Nava, an olive farm in Southern Spain. Nicknamed the olive oil capital of the world, his province is home to one-fifth of the global supply of green gold. But Fermín is doing things a bit differently to others in the region. Since 2019, he’s been transitioning his farm to regenerative agriculture. 🌱 “As a farmer, I know the best way to use natural resources is through regenerative agriculture. If there’s no soil, there’s no agriculture”. Head to the link in the comments to learn more about Fermín’s transition 📎

What’s it like growing citrus’ regeneratively? 🍊 We recently held a farm event in partnership with Amador Soriano to explore just that. We welcomed a group of keen and dedicated growers to connect, learn and see regenerative farming in action. 👨🌾 Over the day, we explored Amador’s journey to regenerative agriculture and discussed how it could look for others. After a fruitful lunch, we shifted our attention from conversations to where it all begins: On the field, and more specifically, in the soil. With a day full of conversations, activities, and technical learnings for attendees, we left feeling inspired and energised. Thanks to those who joined us 💚
