Safe travels to Cologne. 🚀 What an inspiring few days at the 16th annual “Talent Meets Bertelsmann (TMB)” event in Berlin! Talented students from across Europe gathered for three days of innovation and networking with teams from various Bertelsmann divisions and the international TMB alumni community.   Alongside great colleagues from across Bertelsmann SE & Co. KGaA, I had the pleasure of being on the jury this year and witnessing first-hand the extraordinary presentations created by the students in conjunction with our professional teams who helped guide them. BMG has announced its US Frontline Recorded organizational structure following the newly implemented BMG Next strategy. Under the new structure, Jon Loba, President, Frontline Recordings, BMG North America, will now assume the role of President, Frontline Recordings, The Americas, and lead a team of executives across the US (Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville), Canada, Mexico, and Brazil. The label group will be responsible for overseeing new music releases across a wide range of genres including Pop, Rock, R&B/Hip-Hop, Country, and Latin. BMG songwriters took home a total of eleven accolades at the annual Buma Cultuur Awards in Hilversum, Netherlands. One of the night's biggest winners was BMG client Arno Krabman, who was recognized with six awards. BMG has appointed Canadian music industry veteran Bryan Columbus as its new Vice President, Recorded Music, Canada where he will be responsible for leading the marketing strategy and promotion of BMG’s recorded roster in Canada. Based in Toronto, Columbus reports directly to Jon Loba, President, Frontline Recordings, North America. Prior to joining BMG, Columbus served as Label Director, Canada, for Concord Label Group where he oversaw all Canadian label operations for Concord's recorded music division, and its artist rosters across the label group - Loma Vista Recordings, Fearless Records, Fantasy Records, Easy Eye Sound, Rounder Records, Concord Records, KIDZ BOP, and Craft Recordings. Previously, Columbus led the marketing campaigns for BMG and Broken Bow Records Music Group (BBRMG) through their partnership with Black Box Music. His efforts in that role helped BBRMG reach unprecedented success in the Canadian market. Loba said, "Bryan’s continued track record of success in Canada, coupled with his prior successful collaboration with BMG, positions him as an invaluable asset to our organization. His strategic and extensive experience in overseeing marketing campaigns make him the ideal leader to drive BMG's recorded roster forward in Canada. Welcome KT Tunstall to BMG! Scottish singer-songwriter KT Tunstall has been awarded with one of the global music industry’s most prestigious honours, the Ivor Novello Award for Oustanding Song Collection. And she celebrated the award by signing a new music publishing deal with BMG and announcing it from the legendary stage of the Ivors at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel. In a heartfelt acceptance speech, Tunstall acknowledged the support she has received in her career and revealed, “I am starting a new era with the amazing Alistair Norbury and his team at BMG, and I am so excited for what’s coming next.” Read more: https://lnkd.in/enGmPiPw
