If you are not already doing this chances are your content marketing strategy isn't very interesting. People want to follow people driven brands these days. We buy products from people not companies. Start with manageable goals. Post once a day on linked in etc. Almost anyone can write a linked in post every day. That's easy, not up the game on the medium. 5 posts a week and one video. The more you can shift your strategy to video and showcase the personality and expertise of the people who work at your company the better. Use reddit for trend research too.

I already spend all day looking at a screen (whether in meetings, doing research, or working on a presentation), but I rarely have time to check social media or focus on personal things throughout the day. So when I am done for the day, I just want to do something that does not require a lot of thinking, like scrolling through TikTok videos. While I am doing that for fun, it just feels that you are closing your "work screen" and opening a "personal screen", without really having time to disconnect.

Some also feel a strong case of imposter syndrome. In this scenario, I recommend a few things that helped me. 1. Try to stop work at A time that works for you and don't think about it after that. Do other activities you like to take your mind off. 2. Weekends, try to do a course or watch videos on an area of content marketing that interests you. Write down topics where you need improvement. 3. Research these and make a plan for yourself on improving these skills. 4. When you are comfortable, apply those skills in your work. This may also give more ideas on doing things in new ways.

Seeking support is huge. I had to do this in one role (I was actually tasked with doing 3 different positions in this role), and I was fortunate to have a boss who listened and took action to make change as a result. It may not come naturally to you to ask for help if you feel like everything is your responsibility and you should be able to just get it all done, but I assure you if something feels off (persistent extreme overwhelm, etc.) then it probably is. You don't always need to "just get through it". Sometimes you need to speak up, show vulnerability, and seek support from those around you to make change.

The internet is a content-consuming monster, and those of us privileged enough to be creating content for our businesses or the organizations we work for must realize that burnout will become a threat to the extent that our purpose, priorities, and energy management are off. There is no "end" to content creation. There's only - how well can you build a sustainable routine and workflow that enables you to perform at your highest for the longest time possible. And I hate to break it to you, but if you're a content marketer doing it purely "to make a quick buck," it's going to be hard not to fall into that burnout cycle.
