The DataCite Consortia Partnership Program is designed to establish a collaborative network of Consortium Leads committed to advancing the adoption of DataCite services and infrastructure, as well as to promote best practices around leading a DataCite Consortium. 

This partnership initiative is aligned with DataCite’s mission to promote best practices and foster the adoption and benefits of DataCite’s services within different communities. As part of DataCite’s broader mission, the program seeks to facilitate knowledge sharing, strengthen consortium partnerships, and empower the community. 

The DataCite Consortia Partnership Program plays an important role by connecting experts and newcomers and by establishing a framework for the exchange of knowledge and resources relevant to their activities and duties as a Consortia Lead.

Program Objectives

The program aims to facilitate:

1. Knowledge Transfer: Facilitate the transfer of knowledge and best practices among Consortium Leads.

2. Skill Development: Enhance leadership, communication, and project management skills.

3. Collaboration: Foster a collaborative environment for sharing resources and addressing common challenges.

4. Community Building: Strengthen the sense of community among DataCite Consortium Leads.

Program Structure

The DataCite Consortia Partnership Program operates under a flexible framework, allowing participants to tailor their experience to their individual needs and schedules. Key components of the program include:

• Partnership Pairing: Matching experienced consortium leaders with less experienced counterparts based on expertise, goals, and challenges.
• Orientation Session: A kickoff meeting to introduce participants, set expectations, and provide guidelines.
• Regular Check-ins: Quarterly virtual meetings for partnership pairs to discuss progress, challenges, and goals.
• Training Workshops: Workshops covering relevant topics such as leadership, consortium management, and community engagement.
• Resource Sharing Platform: A shared drive for sharing resources, templates, and best practices among consortium leaders.
• Collaborative Projects: Encouraging partnership pairs to collaborate on specific projects or initiatives.

Applications are open for member organizations with the role of Consortium Leads within the DataCite community. Applicants can be based anywhere in the world. The matching process will consider time zones, languages and expertise. The deadline for applications is April 12, 2024 at 23:59 PT
