Our water resources specialists attended a 3-day training program titled “Managing Critical Water Infrastructure in the digital era” organized by ATI seminar & HR solutions in Nicosia. The aim of the training program was to understand the hydraulic principles of the domestic water supply networks, to learn the importance of the digitalization of such networks as well as the various techniques for their simulation, and to provide the basic knowledge and familiarity with software used for modeling domestic water supply networks. The training program included the management and analysis of data relevant to an existing domestic water supply network, its calibration and validation procedure, as well as the spatial optimization techniques for the various elements of a network. The training program was followed by an intra-corporate workshop, in which the knowledge gained from the program was discussed, various inquiries were clarified, and guidance was given for adjusting the outcome of the program to our needs. #domesticwater #infrastructure #hydraulicmodeling

I.A.CO has signed a Contract with the Cyprus Forest Association for the preparation of a #hydrological and #hydraulic study for the «Pedagogical Academy National Forest Park» in Nicosia. This study is foreseen to be performed within the Project titled “Ηolistic management of the water at the Pedagogical Academy National Forest Park”. The objective of the study is the hydrological and hydraulic analysis of the river “Katevas” which flows within the area of the park, for the assessment of the #flood #risk of the park from the river’s flood flows. The flood risk assessment will indicate the areas of the park that are vulnerable to inundation, and will propose the appropriate flood protection measures, including the implementation of Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (#SuDS). The study will include the construction drawings of the measures to be proposed, as well as an estimation of the cost of the proposed works. #hydrology #hydraulics #floodrisk #floodprotection #SuDS 

I.A.CO Environmental and Water Consultants Ltd together with Marine and Environmental Research (MER) Lab have signed a Contract in late 2023 with the Department of Fisheries and Marine Research, for the ‘Review of Coastal Water Bodies of the Republic of Cyprus and their monitoring programs, based on the Water Framework Directive 2000/60/EC’, in view of the 4th RBMP of the Republic of Cyprus. The Services to be provided, include the following: · Review and update of the list required by Article 5.4 of the Environmental Quality Standards Directive and relevant amendments · Revision and update of the Register of Protected Areas · Review of Characteristics with regards to the identification, typology, and geography of Coastal Water Bodies, in accordance with Article 5 of Water Framework Directive (WFD) · Review of the Pressures based on human activities on the status of coastal waters in accordance with Article 5 of WFD · Review of the Delimitation of Coastal Water Bodies · Determination of Pressures for each Coastal Water Body · Identification of Significant Pressures and groups of similar pressure level · Classification of Water Status (ecological and chemical) of all Coastal Water Bodies · Review and update of the Heavily Modified Water Bodies (HMWB) designations · Revision of the Monitoring Program of WFD related to Coastal Water Bodies and cost analysis #WaterFrameworkDirective #CoastalWaterBodies #WaterStatus #HMWB #RBMP #Sustainability

I.A.CO has signed a Contract with Paphos Sewerage Board for the conduction of a hydrological and hydraulic study for the stormwater management of the eastern area of the Municipality of #Paphos. The study will cover an area of ~4,0km2 and concerns the conduction of a hydrological and hydraulic analysis, for the design of an integrated #stormwater #drainage system, emphasizing on serving the main road network of the study area. The hydraulic modeling will be conducted using the EPA’s Storm Water Management Model (#SWMM), which is a dynamic rainfall–runoff model used for single event or long-term simulations of water runoff quantity and quality in primarily urban areas. The study will take into consideration the existing infrastructure, for which a topographical survey for determining its technical characteristics, will be conducted. Moreover, the study will also include an estimation of the cost of the proposed hydraulic works as well as for the improvement of the existing infrastructure. ‘TRITON Consulting Engineers and I.A.CO Environmental & Water Consultants Ltd’ as a Joint Venture has signed a Contract with Cyprus Ports Authority for the "Provision of Consultancy Services for the Extension of the Latsi Port". The Services to be provided, within the sixty-two (62) month duration Contract, include the following: ‒ Design and preparation of all necessary studies, preparation of Bills of Quantities, Specifications and all necessary documents for the request for tenders and their evaluation, for the construction of the Latsi Port Extension project as well as the supervision of the construction works. ‒ Elaboration of a comprehensive Environmental Impact Assessment Study (EIA) and supplementary studies for the construction and operation of the new Latsi. The general objective of the project is the: ‒ upgrading of the Latsi existing port into a modern “Green Port” with its extension towards the sea, for the creation of a new port basin to increase the number of berths, and, ‒ creation of new terrestrial areas where the public services for the operation of the port will be housed. The whole development and management of the port will be in line with European regulations and Cypriot legislation so that the project can be recognized and certified as an “ECOPORT”.
