Heather Paterson

Criminology and Justice Policy, PhD

Heather Paterson is a doctoral student in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Northeastern University. She holds a B.S. in Neuroscience from Tulane University and, prior to her doctoral candidacy, spent three years working as a clinical research assistant at Boston Children’s Hospital. Her research interests include the impact of adverse childhood experiences on life course behavior, particularly in relation to future criminal justice system involvement, and establishing effective social intervention for at-risk youth. She is currently collaborating with Dr. Brandon Welsh on various projects including a paper entitled, “Is it Time for Pair-Matching to be used in all Randomized Controlled Trials? Evidence from Medicine and the Social Sciences.”
