R&D teams within OVHcloud can rely on many talents, from various areas of expertise, to develop the technical innovations at the heart of our products.
Innovation is our forte, from power management to stacking up servers in our bespoke server racks to watercooling. Innovation at OVHcloud also extends to software stacks servicing, which primarily includes artificial intelligence (AI), where R&D leverages its experimentation and innovative expertise to create new models and software solutions, while green-lighting technological options related to infrastructure to meet our customers needs.
Electrical engineers, printed circuit board (PCB) designers, fluid mechanics engineers, thermal energy engineers, PhDs in various fields, architects and many others, all work together from proof of concepts to industrialisation to deliver innovations that propel our trusted cloud to new heights, and set new standards in power and water efficiency as well as price-performance ratios.
Pioneering sustainable cloud for 20 years
For 20 years, our commitment to innovation has been focused on making the cloud more sustainable. To fulfil this commitment, we developed our proprietary watercooling system on an industrial scale right from the start, which allowed OVHcloud to design a unique range of eco-friendly datacentres at a global level. With over 20 years of expertise in watercooling, OVHcloud datacentres now set the standard in power usage (PUE) and water usage (WUE). With features amongst the best in the industry, these datacentres achieve exceptional performance thanks to water’s heat transfer properties.
From our earliest days, we have been committed to reducing IT component waste, optimising datacentre energy consumption, reusing former industrial buildings, and innovating to develop more eco-efficient cooling systems.
