Over the next four months, we’ll publish our topline averages for the following subgroups of voters: men, women, white college graduates, white non-college graduates, Black voters, Hispanic/Latino voters, 18-to-29-year-olds, 65+ voters, Democrats, Republicans and independents.

Subgroup findings often vary widely across polls owing to small sample sizes. For example, a live-interview survey of 800 likely voters may only survey 100 Black voters or even fewer 18-to-29-year-olds, producing “noisy” results that might fluctuate wildly with little real-world explanation from month to month. But our crosstab averages attempt to reduce this noise by aggregating and averaging subgroup results across a broad range of surveys.
