I had so much fun today running a design thinking sprint for an amazing group of Iraqi high schoolers visiting Raleigh through #IYLEP (International Focus)!! I haven't run many trainings for Five One Labs since I moved out of Iraq, so it's very cool to reconnect with inspiring young innovators on my new home turf. Thank you Raleigh Founded for providing such an awesome space to do it in!

He is the founder and director of the Digital Empowerment Foundation in Hyderabad - India and a member of the Ashoka Foundation, Carolina Rossi, who is responsible for the network and strategic initiatives at the ESNA in Europe and a consultant in entrepreneurship in USA, Austria & Spain. They were interviewed by Savo Bakhtiar, the Regional Director. For Five One Labs coming from Sulaymaniyah. In this section, They talked about digital transformation around the world and its contribution to the economy. I just spent an unforgettable weekend in Baghdad for the Digital Transformation Initiative DTI Youth representing Five One Labs. Moderating a panel with global experts like Caro Rossi and Osama Manzar, who both happen to be my WSA colleagues, was a blast. Our discussions on the crucial role of policy reforms in fostering innovation, the importance of bridging the urban-rural digital divide, the impact of digital payments on financial inclusion, and the transformative yet challenging nature of AI and automation were eye-opening. It was inspiring to see so many stakeholders committed to driving digital change in Iraq. Grateful for the opportunity to be part of this!

Five One Invest publishes its first annual "State of Investments in Iraq" Report: The report is a holistic study of investor and startup perspectives on Iraq’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. It draws on insights gathered from surveys of startup founders and various investor and founder roundtable discussions. The research uncovers widely held perceptions, existing challenges, and potential solutions to strengthen Iraq’s investment ecosystem further. This study intends to provide a snapshot of the current realities and potential opportunities understood by those directly supporting startups in Iraq.
