SALT LAKE CITY, UT — Former Syracuse men's basketball guard Judah Mintz made his NBA Summer League debut with the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday night.
The Sixers are one of four teams participating in the Salt Lake City portion of the Summer League before the main event kicks off in Las Vegas on July 12th.
Mintz saw 16 minutes of action in his first game in a pro uniform. He put up six points, two steals, and two assists against the Oklahoma City Thunder, showcasing improved defense and one of his signature breakaway dunks. He went 3-5 (60%) shooting from the floor.
Mintz spent a spectacular two seasons at Syracuse before declaring for the 2024 NBA Draft, where he was not selected. He will now try to prove his worth to an NBA team in the Summer League.
He faced off against none other than fellow former Orange star Buddy Boeheim, who signed an Exhibit 10 deal with the Thunder just last week. Boeheim was waived last month by the Detroit Pistons after previously spending two seasons with the organization.
Boeheim put up six points and two rebounds in Monday night's showing, with the Sixers topping the Thunder 102 to 92.
It's not the last we'll see of these two this week- the Salt Lake City Summer League continues through Wednesday, July 10th. The Sixers and Thunders will alternate between the 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. time slot on both Tuesday and Wednesday night- all but one of the games can be found on ESPN/ESPN2.
