Former Syracuse men's basketball guard Buddy Boeheim has reportedly been waived by the Detroit Pistons.

Boeheim had one year remaining on the two-year, two-way deal he signed with the Pistons back in February.

Spotrac NBA reporter Keith Smith was the first to report the news on X on Saturday evening.

The son of legendary former Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim played for the Orange from 2018-2022. He spent the last two seasons in the Pistons' organization between Detroit and the Motor City Cruise, the team's G-League affiliate.

Boeheim was waived by Detroit following his rookie season (2022-2023), in which he played in 18 games with the Cruise and 10 with Detroit.

He then signed an Exhibit 10 deal with the Pistons last August, before re-upping on the two-year deal in February.

In ten games with the Pistons last season, Boeheim averaged 3.2 points per game and shot 32% from three. He also had some big moments late in games for the Cruise.

Throughout four years at Syracuse, Boeheim put up 1,765 points, which ranks 13th in school history. He averaged 19.2 points per game in his senior season (2021-2022).
