Syracuse company Quadrant Biosciences is discontinuing its laboratory and autism diagnosis operations, according to posts on the company's website.

The suspension of both services was effective as of July 1, with the company blaming "financial challenges in the current healthcare and investment landscapes." Quadrant Biosciences refers to Quadrant Laboratories and As You Are as subsidiary companies, with each finding the spotlight in the healthcare world in recent years.

As You Are is a virtual autism clinic that just expanded services to all 50 states as of January of this year. On the As You Are page, there is a statement that reads in part "As You Are is facing severe challenges within the healthcare payer space, forcing us to temporarily pause virtual autism evaluations for new patients." The statement goes on to say that they are trying to find ways to reopen; they stopped taking new patients as of July 1.

Quadrant Laboratories played a critical role in Central New York during the pandemic, partnering with school districts and SUNY Upstate to assist with COVID testing. On the lab web page, no specific information is offered for the discontinuation of services. They state that patients waiting on tests will still receive results and are advised to check emails for information. The post also addresses healthcare partners, with Quadrant Laboratories writing "we are working to ensure a smooth transition and will communicate directly about next steps."
