AeroGardens are designed to help you grow your own herbs, vegetables, salad greens or flowers at home. Our Seed Pod Kits are compatible with every model of AeroGarden. Planting with Seed Pods is fun and easy! Just insert the pre-seeded pods in your garden, add water, and the patented, specially formulated Liquid Nutrients. Most plants germinate within 7-14 days, are ready for harvesting in 4-6 weeks, and will keep producing continuous harvests for up to 6 months and longer. Indoor gardening can’t get any tastier or simpler!
Pruning your herbs is important to keep them growing and healthy in your AeroGarden. You can start pruning when the plants are about 2 inches tall. We recommend only pruning about ⅓ of the plant at a time. When growing herbs, keep in mind basil usually sprouts within a week of planting, and grows rapidly. Be sure to prune your basil from the top as needed to keep the grow lights at the lowest position until all the herbs have a chance to catch up. Raising the grow light to accommodate the basil can slow or stop growth for other smaller, slower-growing herbs.
Yes, you can mix different types of plants in your AeroGarden to grow a variety of herbs, salad, veggies, and flowers if you’d like. If you are growing different plant types, it is important to prune the taller and bushier plants as they grow to allow plenty of space and light for the shorter and smaller plants.
After each planting, we recommend cleaning and sanitizing your AeroGarden for the best results.

Overpriced and underwhelming....
I got this on extreme clearance, like $25. I'm SO glad I didn't pay more! I now see that every single garden is based on a lie. Unless you want only greens and small herbs, you will NEVER be able to put pods in all your slots. I am, as I write this, building a real hydroponic garden designed to use the aerogarden pods and nutrients. THOSE actually seem solid and effective. But you need a lot more room to grow a real garden of produce. The sprout is straight up a seed starter, it's honestly a joke and not even big enough for herbs. My garden consisting of two 4' rails cost under $150.... Lights, pumps and all.

Frustrated and disappointed
This was a Christmas gift two years ago. I successfully grew two rounds of herbs. When I planted a third set of pods, something was clearly off with the machine because after over three weeks, not only did the pods not sprout but the water level never dropped at all. Customer service always responded promptly but often the reply wasn't germane to the problem. I didn't need to know what to do when the tank was empty as it never was! I couldn't get good info on how to know if the pump was working or not. Of course, the warranty had expired and now I have three wasted pods and three unopened ones. I was happy with it while it was working but if it only worked for two rounds, those are very expensive herbs!

Not what I would choose !!!- slight design flaw
I own each of Aerogarden’s products and I have to say this one is the least effective.. I think it has its uses but honestly there didn’t appear to be enough wattage to get things going and the footprint of the model itself drowns the seeds in the basket because the water line is too close and it results in too much water during germination and a drowned seed and not enough wattage to dry and even things out- this would take a design change to make the product a bit bigger to account for this- you are better off purchasing a Harvest model…

Growing pains
It started out very nicely. We followed the routine it gave us a positive growing experience; the bump came and we lost the momentum. The bump we had to leave and were not around for 10 days. 2 of 3 appear to be gone. It appears the roots are to overgrown. Can't transplant as it's to cold. Parsley is still growing but not very much. Our options appear limited. More info or guidance would be nice. It's probably my fault for not looking hard for it. We are beginning the learning of growing gardens. Any simple help to help us simpletons is greatly appreciated!

A great way to get started with hydroponics!
I got this Sprout for my sister when she was going through a tough time. I was skeptical about how well the small light would work - but it was just fine for both flowers and herbs. The arm of the light raises surprisingly high (imo) and remains sturdy and balanced. It looks nice in my sister's kitchen and it's a mood-booster to see plants growing. Her teen-aged son likes maintaining the plants, as well as keeping it watered and fed. She said he doesn't read anything, but he read the entire booklet about this little garden and even went online to find forums where people talk about their Aerogardens,

Disappointing Sprout results.
On June 2nd we purchased a Sprout to go with 2 Harvest units we already had. We have tried 6 different pods and none germinated. I even put one pod in an empty spot on the harvest and when it sprouted moved it to the Sprout unit. After two days it fell over and died. The other two pod still haven't germinated and just got moldy. We still changed the water and fed according to directions.The watering feature is working, but the pods only get wet enough to grow mold. We have had such good results with the 2 Harvest units I don't think it's something we've done.

Always have pretty plants in the Living Room.
I bought one for myself and for each of my grandkids for Christmas last year. The boys haven't started theirs yet because of a death in the family and moring to a different state, but my grand daughter is having much fun and no trouble at all with hers (she is only 9) and mine brought us much joy over the winter, growing flowers. It works like magic and I have bought another to set up mass flowers in the house starting next fall. Everything I have started so far has sprouted and thrived, although Petunias can take a couple of weeks to get going. Now I'm growing Coleus inside and out, all started in the Sprout, and the ones I left inside are growing much faster than the ones in I moved into pots outside.. Since I have a Bounty, 3 Harvest Slims and a regular Harvest I didn't think I would ever want a smaller unit, but I'm sure pleased I got it. Very pleased!

Great Idea!
I love fresh herbs and always use them when cooking. I have already tried a few times to grow them in a classic pot, but it never worked. My house doesn't get enough light and I don't have a place to put them directly by windows. This AeroGarden is perfect for my kitchen. It looks great on my kitchen counter and there is no mess from dirt that would normally be required for planting. We started using this only a few days ago and our boy is checking his plants every day asking if they are ready yet : ) Looks like there are also options to get different seeds and accessories, which is great! I am now also looking at the Bounty Elite Garden and thinking about adding it to my Christmas wish list to be able to grow more herbs and veggies right here in my kitchen. Recommended!

If the aerator in the bottom portion (of the the pod aerogarden) is not working , is there a way to fix or replace it?
The Sprout is meant to turn off if the water runs out, it's a safety feature. When pump senses no water in the bowl, the garden turns off. The pump tries to run again 16 seconds later and will run for 8 seconds. If the garden is still empty, the light and pump will remain off.
To restart the pump:
Add water and carefully lift the front of the water bowl and tilt slightly to move the water a bit and change the water pressure around the pump.
Replace the water bowl in its position and wait a moment or two. The pump should start running and the lights will turn on a moment or two after the pump starts running.
You have to do this during the 8 seconds the pump is checking for water (you can feel and hear when this is happening).
Another method to restart the pump:
Remove the mushroom-shaped cap and stem from the pump.
Gently cover the pump opening where the stem connected to the pump with your finger while the pump is running a few times. This should start the water flowing from the pump which will readily be noticeable when you remove your finger from the opening.

We travel frequently, how long can it go without adding new water?
This will depend on if a new pod is in the garden or if the plant has been established, as water will need to be added more frequently.
The Sprout has a safety feature. If the water bowl runs empty, the pump will stop working and the LED grow light will turn off.
